Last september 29th, Ducati
signed the European Road Safety Charter.
The European Road Safety Charter is just more than a political
document. It’s an invitation by the European Board to
undertake tangible actions, to evaluate risks and to make everybody
more aware on the necessity to decrease the number of road accidents
victims.
Having signed, Ducati reserves the right to spread and to share good
practices of road safety. Doing so, it participates to the fulfilment
of the communitarian goal to decrease of 50% by 2010 the number of
mortal road accidents. In addition to promote the use of the helmet and
appropriate clothing, our aim is to make the motocommunity more aware
to improve the riding/participation capacities, above all in risky
situations.
WHAT WE ASK
In support of our commitment and to reach the communitarian goals, we
ask your support and, above all we demand you to become road safety
ambassador. Our aim is to share, both inside and outside the bikers
community road safety values, making emerge and show off the good
practices that you put to use during your Club activities. Point out
all the activities that you already foresee among your activities
(first aid course, rules of conduct for the individual or group tours,
drive course, etc.) so that we can give you the right visibility and
let them become common practices to all our clubs.
The first great moment of meeting and exchange on this topic is
foreseen during the WDW2007, where we are planning a special area in
which we will give a large visibility to your activities on the road
safety topic.
We are sure that you will understand the importance of this initiative
and that you will answer to our appeal with the same enthusiasm. We
wait for your ideas and suggestions on the following e-mail address:
