Taking you to the next level

If you already have some riding experience but want to improve your skills, the Intermediate Course will take you to the next level.

The course covers common road situations and focuses on how to tackle them using specific riding techniques. The exercises take place in a controlled and organized environment in the paddock, where road-based emergency situations are simulated.

These drills were specifically designed to teach you how to maintain better control of your bike in different conditions, and how to avoid potentially dangerous, everyday situations. Under the guidance of our experts you'll start noticing improvements immediately.

The day culminates in a double track session that will introduce you to riding controlled and fluid track lines. You'll leave this course a safer and more confident rider.
The Intermediate Course uses the Hypermotard, Multistrada and brand new Monster 696 or 1100.

"At the DRE I learned lots of great tips from excellent instructors about how to ride more safely on the road every day. And what can I say about my experience on the track? It was my first time and I could have kept going round forever!"

Stefano Gervasini

The intermediate course is divided into groups of six (up to a maximum of 42 riders), with each group led by an expert instructor. Some bikes are used in rotation among the groups: the Monster 1100, the Multistrada and the Hypermotard.

The intermediate course consists of alternating practice and theory sessions. The on-bike practice features a series of 7 exercises performed in the paddock: braking, braking with an obstacle, going around a hairpin bend, double cornering, cornering in sequence, constant radius cornering and variable radius cornering.

After completing the paddock exercises, the afternoon programme starts with a technical briefing followed by two 20-minute track sessions. You'll enter the track accompanied by your instructor, who will safely guide the group around. You will have the track to yourself – no riders from other courses will be on the track during your session.

The required gear includes leathers, gloves, boots and a full-face helmet. If you can't provide any of these items, you can hire them when you purchase a course online at www.ducati.com (see the 'Clothing requirements' section for complete details on the required gear).

You must have a motorcycle licence (without engine displacement restrictions) to participate in the intermediate course.
