realize your full potential
The Master Racing Course is designed for those of you who want to race competitively or who are currently racing or attending extreme track days and want personalized instruction to realize your full potential. The most advanced of all the DRE courses, each expert instructor oversees a small group of three students maximum -- you're guaranteed to get one-on-one instruction on the track as well as in-depth reviews between sessions. Because the Master Racing Course gets to the heart of extreme racing techniques, participants should already have attended approximately ten track days.

The Master Racing Course uses the latest 1198 S Superbike. At 169kg (373lb), it puts out 125kW (170hp) and an impressive 131.4Nm (97lb-ft) of torque. With the incredible 8-level Ducati Traction Control system, Brembo Monobloc calipers, and Öhlins forks and rear shock, you'll be able to safely push your limits like never before. And just to prove it, data acquisition equipment enables the retrieval of data from at least one one of your track sessions so your performance can be evaluated and compared to that of your instructor’s.

If you're ready to get ahead of the competition, the Master Racing Course is ready for you.

quotes
"There are lots of reasons why you might want to take part in the DRE, but the main thing is the unique opportunity to be taught by real racers, and to get to know them after the lessons too. "

Emiliano Sirchia

Special on-board tests
As a Master Racing course participant, you'll take part in a test on a 1198 S specially fitted with the 2D professional Data Acquisition system. The test will provide you with detailed rider/bike performance data that can be used to compare against your instructor's data.

The Data Acquisition system records a host of information, including throttle valve opening, engine RPM, vehicle speed, lap time, suspension travel, brake pressure, tyre temperature and race lines taken.

At the end of the test, the data will be retrieved from the Data Acquisition system and an electronic engineer will analyse and review the results with you.

Instructor-to-student radio
The 2009 Master Racing Course sees the introduction of instructor-to-student radio communication. This compact and super-lightweight wireless system, developed by technical partner Twiins, will be installed in your helmet for you and enable direct and precise instruction while on the track. And don’t worry, the installation is fast and simple and will leave no marks! This feature, which is specially and exclusively prepared for students of Master Racing, is included in your subscription fee. An 1198 S with 170hp, 169kg, Ducati Traction Control and a professional rider (maybe even a World Champion) in your ear? This truly is the Master Racing Course!

The Master Racing course is designed for highly experienced motorcyclists who have already attended a track course, regularly race or attend track days. You will be divided into groups of three (up to a maximum of 18 riders), with each group led by an expert instructor. The bike used in this course is the 1198 S Superbike.

You will have 7 on-track practice sessions alternating with theory-based input and advice. Of the 7 track sessions, 2 will be exclusively reserved for the Master Racing Course (not shared with the Racing Level II course), allowing you to get the most of the 1198 S on the track.

The required gear includes leathers, gloves, boots and a full-face helmet. If you don't own any of these items, you can hire them when you purchase a course online at www.ducati.com (see the 'Clothing requirements' section for complete details on the required gear).

You must have a motorcycle licence (without engine displacement restrictions) to participate in the Master Racing Course.
