DUCATI ISLAND LAGUNA SECA
 Ducati Island celebrates its 13th consecutive year at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca during the Red Bull US Grand Prix, all the off-track excitement and hospitality offered uniquely by Ducati will continue to improve. Ducati will host Island events in 2009 at Daytona International Speedway, Miller Motorsports Park, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, and the Red Bull Indianapolis GP.
Ducati Island is motorcycle racing's premier off-track experience. Ducati North America has expanded Ducati Island this year with more attractions and more opportunities for owners and fans alike to get involved. Highlights include:
- Ducati Hospitality/Gear Check: the most comfortable venue at the races-complimentary for all Ducati owners (note: A Ducati motorcycle key is no longer proof of ownership, you must bring your current Ducati registration or insurance and picture ID with you to obtain Ducati Island hospitality access)
- Ducati-Only Parking: you can't get any closer to the action than this-only Ducati owners can ride in and out with this much freedom Parking Pass Details Here
- Ducati Fashion Shows/Special Entertainment: they need no introduction-the latest Italian fashions on the best looking models are always the fan favorite Island event and all new this year a special entertainment experience as well
- Ducati Performance Apparel & Accessories: Southern California Ducati will be Ducati's apparel and accessories vendor on Ducati Island, offering the latest Ducati Performance clothing and accessories
- Ducati Showroom: Come see some of the latest Ducati motorcycles including the Desmosedici RR, 1198 S Superbike, Streetfighter, Monster 1100, and a very special new addition to the Ducati lineup, which will be unveiled at 4pm on Saturday by Ducati MotoGP rider Nicky Hayden. Additionally, several custom built Ducatis from a variety of builders and the 848's from the new Transformers movie will be on display
- Ducati Monster Experience: Also new to Ducati Island is the Ducati Monster Experience. This special area of Ducati Island is reserved for one purpose; the Monster and the motorcycle culture surrounding it. On hand will be an accessory display, apparel display, Ducati performance custom bikes, and the US unveiling of the Monster "Color Therapy" program. All thirteen colors of bodywork will be on display for the Monsteristi to choose between
- Ducati Museum: New for 2009 will be the Ducati Museum, a 20 x 60 foot area transformed into the history of Ducati. On display will be a selection of significant street and race machines both past and present. In addition, there will be a historical display of product from Ducati partner; Oakley, and a very special selection of rare memorabilia from Ducatis early days. This special addition will include a Ducati radio, projector, shaver, and more
- WyoTech Garage: showing off Ducati's inner workings, WyoTech is featuring a technical demonstration where you will be able to interact with the technician during the process-WyoTech's new Ducati certification program ensures that your dealership's certified Ducati mechanics are the best trained in the business
- Ducati Vendor Row: Select vendors will be displaying products oriented towards the Ducati enthusiast; including Cafe-Razzi, Foremost Insurance Group, MotorcycleUSA, Metal Signs, MotoEuro, Ohlins, NCR and Capcom Entertainment
- Make A Wish Silent Auction: A silent auction will be held on Ducati Island to benefit the Make A Wish Foundation. Auction items will include: Burton Snowboard Signed by Nicky Hayden, Nicky Hayden replica Arai Helmet , LoJack Security System for Motorcycles
- Autograph Signings: Many famous Ducati riders and personas will be signing autographs throughout the weekend; including Frank Scurria, Cook Neilson, Larry Pegram, Casey Stoner, Nicky Hayden, and Kevin Cameron, who will be on hand to sign his new book, The Grand Prix Motorcycle. - Ducati Track Walk: Get a Professional Racers perspective of the famous Laguna Seca Raceway-The narrated Ducati Track Walk will provide insights and strategies from the Andretti hairpin to the infamous corkscrew from Ducati Pilot Larry Pegram
This holiday event will have some special surprise announcements from Ducati, Stay Tuned.
Other major highlights include the all-new Ducati Island Showdown and the chance to walk away with an exclusive Ducati Watch by Binda.
The Ducati Island Showdown is an open contest held on each of the four Ducati Islands. The concept is simple-show up with the best Ducati in your class and ride home a winner. The 2009 showdown is sponsored by Motorcyclist Magazine, Pirelli, Puma, Oakley, Moto-Euro and Foremost Insurance. Complete details can be found here.
Ducati North America wants to reward one lucky Ducati Island visitor an exclusive Ducati Watch by Binda. Track down the Foremost Insurance girls and fill out your entry before the end of the weekend and you will be in the running. An additional winner will be selected to receive a gift certificate from Bridgestone tires. The winners will be selected on Sunday and your only chance to enter is at the races (see contest details on the Island for more information).
