Michael Lock, CEO of Ducati North America was guest speaker recently at an event organized by the Italian American Alliance for Business and Technology (IAABT). The Grosse Pointe Yacht Club main ballroom set the stage for four Ducati motorcycles – defining the Italian firm's many years of engineering and styling refinements.
The latest Ducati speed machine, the Desmosedici, was prominently displayed and captured the attention of the event participants for the entire evening.
"Detroit has a long-standing engineering heritage and a passion for manufacturing stemming from the Automotive industry" says Massimo Denipoti, President of IAABT, "so high-performance and highly-styled motorcycles from Ducati are thoroughly appreciated. Plus, some of the attendees and members of IAABT are suppliers to Ducati, as well as to the automotive industry. They marveled at the similarities between the two industries."
Sponsors of this event were Magneti Marelli, COMEC-USA Inc., The Italian American Chamber of Commerce and Cantoro Market.
Consul of Italy in Detroit Marco Nobili noted: "Ducati is yet another example of excellence in Italian technology. In addition, it is a global brand that demonstrates the richness of the Italian industrial tradition."
