This weekend in Assen, the Ducati Superbike team took home its first podium of the season on a Sunday full of rain and delayed starts. After falling in race 1 Davide Giugliano came back strong in race 2 and finished 3rd even though it was a difficult race because of the rain and the poor condition of the track. "We are very happy with this podium result. It was important for the team, sponsors, fans and helps improve overall team morale" said Giuliano, the 24-year old Roman rider. The next Superbike round is the first SBK race in Italy - a "home" race for Ducati in Imola, only 40 km from Borgo Panigale. There will be a Ducati Grandstand in Imola too, with thousands of excited fans ready as ever to support our heroes on the track.
And let's not forget that in Imola the Superstock 1000 category will be racing as well. This category too was great for Ducati at Assen thanks to Jezek, a Ducati rider from the Barni Racing Team who scored a second place in Sunday race
Check out this "best-of" gallery while you wait for the upcoming round of races. We will kick off this Friday with MotoGP free practice from Jerez.
