Race 1 was unfortunate enouite unlucky for the Effenbert Liberty Racing riders, who made some mistakes in the early laps of the race.
Sylvain Guintoli had a start below expectations, then started a great comeback, with lap times equal to the riders in the top positions that had led him to recover up to the tenth position, when unfortunately, a crash ended his race .
Jakub Smrz, however, hesitant in the early laps, later in the race acquired a very interesting pace, achieving, at the end, a good seventh place.
These are the results of race one, taken directly from the official timekeeper of the World Superbike Championship 2011, considering the drivers who have earned points for the championship.
On the second race, unfortunately, only one of the two Effenbert Liberty Racing Team riders took the start, as Sylvain Guintoli has been precaciously stopped by the doctors of the circuit' s clinic for some health checks to be carried out at the hospital in Melbourne ,subsequentally to the bad crash from the morning, nothing broken for the Frenchman, but in these cases precautions are never too many. The rider will already return home tonight as expected.
Unfortunately, the performance of race two by Jakub Smrz has been similar to the one of the first race of the day as he slipped down into the middle positions group and was caught in the traffic until the conclusion of the race, finishing eleventh and only 7 thousandths of second from the tenth place and two seconds from sixth place!!
