World Ducati Week 2004 has just ended, and this year saw the event host the second edition of Ducati Supplier Day.
Supplier Day, created in 2001, aims to bring together all Ducati suppliers and partners, to demonstrate the strategic importance of the supplier network which represents a critical factor in Ducati’s success.
The decision to host Supplier Day at WDW was designed to allow the company’s suppliers to understand the passion and intensity of the Ducati community, and, outside the usual business context, to interact with the company.
One of the most interesting discussions at the event concerned “innovation and the creation of value in the Supply Chain” with speeches by Ducati directors and strategic suppliers.
“In this particular period, in which market is asking our Companies always more challenging targets, it is necessary to maximize the efforts and value of each of us and join together in common development programs to satisfy our customers. - said Gianfranco Giorgini, Ducati’s Director of Operations - Supplier Day is a sharing event to reflect together and cement partnerships with our suppliers, in order to share future strategies and development”.
“Change, speed, integration, globalisation: these are the challenges that Ducati highlighted at the Supplier Day conference”, - adds Giovanni Contino, CEO and Partner of Ducati Consulting, the new company born within the Ducati Motor Holding group - “we are ready to offer our expertise gained in Ducati to all suppliers and not limited to those that want to make change management their mission”.
