read more50,000 km travelled in just eight months. The Multistrada 950 has showed its true colours.
The top performer in the marathon was the engine: between the start and the end of the journey it gained over 4 HP, did not consume any oil and, when disassembled at the end of the test, it was still perfectly healthy.
As reported by the Motociclismo journalists, this endurance test was also a chance to appreciate the constant attention to improving the quality of the bikes leaving the Borgo Panigale factory and the long maintenance intervals, not to mention the four-year warranty on the entire Multistrada Model Year 2020 range, all indicating a high level of confidence in the product.

read moreAll the various internal organs finished the test retaining high levels of efficiency and with minimal wear. A confirmation of this good mechanical health is the power and maximum torque record values recorded at the end of the test, growing progressively during the 50,000 km. No lubricant has ever been added between the service coupons, demonstrating practically zero oil consumption.
Very few traces of combustion were found on the heads and pistons in the engine of the Multistrada 950 tested.
read moreThe reduced traces of carbon residues stems from the relentless research focused on combustion chambers and piston ring profiles, including tolerances between piston and cylinder as well as the material of the valve guides. All this is also confirmed by a consumption of lubricant practically equal to zero.
The gearbox assembly was in mint condition both in terms of the gears and the minimal selector fork wear.

As noted in the article, this was the first time that no signs of wear and tear were found on components of the engines in all the 50,000 km endurance tests ever done by Motociclismo. Excellent braking
The effectiveness of combined braking was always ensured by the high performance Brembo-Bosch combo. As reported in the article, the wear of the brake pads proved to be well below what was seen in other endurance tests carried out by Motociclismo on other vehicles.
Perfect paint and no oxidisation
The Motociclismo test demonstrated the excellent quality of the Multistrada 950's finishes, treatments and materials.
The bolts and the various steel and light alloy components showed no signs of oxidisation at the end of the test.
The body, engine and frame paint finished the test in excellent condition.
The finish of the exhaust manifolds and silencer also showed little to no sign of oxidisation, even on the front manifold which is more exposed to the weather.
