The bore to stroke ratio allows the Superquadro to set benchmark levels of horsepower for a twin: 155 hp (114 kW) at 10,750 rpm with maximum torque of 104 Nm at 9000 rpm.
Part of Ducati DNA, the twin-cylinder has made an indelible impression on the Superbike World Championship, amassing 341 wins over 30 years of racing. The Superquadro was born with the first 1199 Panigale, before evolving into the 955 cc. Its name derives from the very high bore to stroke ratio that allows the engine to achieve benchmark levels of horsepower.
The Superquadro engine is used as a structural element of the motorcycle, serving as its beating heart. The compact front structure comprises a chill cast aluminium monocoque frame that is affixed to the engine head. Also connected to the engine is the rear single-sided swingarm, for ultimate performance on track and heightened feeling on the road.

Desmodromic timing sees the adoption of titanium intake valves and “super-finished” rocker arms with DLC coating, born in the aerospace world to reduce friction and fatigue. The combined chain/gear-driven control sets new references in terms of efficiency and reliability.
The crankcases are the result of Vacural® casting, with aluminium cylinder liners complete with NiKaSil coating that allow the heads to be affixed directly to the crankcases. The cylinder head covers, clutch and oil sump are in magnesium, for an extremely compact and stiff engine
Whether up- or down-shifting, the Quick Shifter mounted as standard ensures the ideal support, with no need to use the clutch or close the throttle.
The perfect travel companion for days of authentic sports riding, and a valuable support when riding in the city.
