Network Development Manager

SUMMARY:
The role of the Network Development Manager is responsible for dealer network development strategies, and national polices & procedures. This individual will have direct responsibility for dealer network operations including dealer appointments, terminations, replacements, upgrades, buy-sell due diligence, improvement process and programs to support dealer profitability. While leading the individual tactical initiatives, this position will drive change management and promote the vision of network elevation amongst the regional teams. The Network Development Manager will drive strategies, manage multifaceted projects, and develop solutions to complex issues.   

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop regional strategy together with CEO, Sales Director and respective Regional Business Manager (RBM). Execute by sales region to rehabilitate or replace under performing dealers and analyze open market potential
  • Implement network strategy that will ensure regional capacity is sufficient to meet all new, pre-owned, aftersales and service targets through 2021
  • Manage Dealer performance variance within region: support Field teams in analyzing performance data & developing improvement strategies
  • Routinely analyze and interpret findings of market studies, develop and implement action plans with regions. Direct all work conducted by third party (Urban Science / MIS)
  • Evaluate, propose, and award open points in markets where opportunity exists. Support regions in launches of new dealers with coordination of Marketing Team
  • Responsible for maintaining and communicating dealer Primary Market Area
  • Supervise all support programs for Dealer activities including Business Management Program for profitability analysis and improvement
  • Coordinate between Dealer, Region & Corporate, all corporate identity & corporate design projects to ensure compliance with Ducati North America (DNA) requirements 
  • Train Region staff in use of Dealer Performance Measurement tools, Network Development policies & procedures, legal awareness, & business management 
  • Manage the dealer inquiry process, including responding to, distributing and documentation of all inquiries
  • Refine global Ducati Certified Pre-Owned program for launch and management
  • Manage Exclusive Dealer program to encourage recognize and reward exclusivity
  • Coordinate with parent company the revision and implementation of the Ducati Brand Standards manual for local implementation
  • Create and manage new dealer orientation classes for formal introduction to Ducati North America staff, policies and practices
  • Coordinate training needs with parent company for Ducati Academy integrating Motorcycle sales, Ducati Performance Apparel & Accessories
  • Ensure legal compliance of all Network Development actions, programs, and policies
  • Responsible for quarterly network review forums with regional teams
  • Manage internal Network Development staff to ensure timely and accurate coordination and execution

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 4 years related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business/ Finance/ Economics/ Accounting
  • Extensive automotive experience including direct dealer contact
  • Understanding of Dealer Financial Statements  and ability to complete dealership financial analysis
  • Knowledge & understanding of overall retail automotive dealer operations
  • Experience with Integration – joining people, processes or systems
  • Influencing and negotiation skills
  • Resource Management & Project Management experience
  • Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; able to manage multiple priorities and workflow
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
  •  Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds
  • Receptive to travel, 70% in the Mountain View, CA office, 30% in the field (travel domestic and international)
