Barni Racing Team and Xavi Forés still together in 2018

Barni Racing Team has the pleasure to announce the contract renewed with Xavi Forès for 2018 Motul FIM WorldSBK Championship. For the third consecutive year the Spaniard will be on the saddle of the team from Bergamo's Ducati Panigale R. Principal Manager Marco Barnabò announced it at Eicma 2017, the International motorcycles exhibition.

Forés, 32 years old from Llombai, in Spain, began his career in 2000 riding a 125 cc in the now called FIM CEV series, being Champions thrice: CEV Superbike in 2010 and 2013, and IDM Superbike in 2014.
His first time in WorldSBK was riding a BMW and in 2015 he replaced in Ducati Racing team the injured Davide Giugliano at Aragon, Assen e Losail. In 2016 the adventure with Barni Racing Team began and during the season Forés conquered a third place in the german round at Lausitzring's race 2. It was the first podium ever for the Barni Racing Team in WorldSBK.
Last season Forés was seventh overall, being three times fourth under the checkered flag at Assen, Imola and Magny Cours.

Marco Barnabò, Principal Manager Barni Racing Team
«It's a pleasure for me to confirm Xavi for the third consecutive year, going on the same way together it's very important for our team. In the last season we improved a lot and stability is one of the most important thing in trying to be more competitive next year. Some problems we suffered comes out from inexperience and for this reason keeping the same rider, the same bike and the same team it will be positive in order to improve the results both in term of points and position in the overall standings».

Xavi Forés #12
«My first goal for the following season was to reach an agreement with Barni Racing Team. I am at ease with the team and the bike, this make me feel at home. In 2017 we did a great job competing as a private team with factory riders. Because of that i'm very happy for the contract renewed. I cannot wait to be in Australia on February for the first round of the 2018 season. I'm sure we will be able to fight for the podium in most of races».
