With winter training concluded, the Motocorsa Racing team is ready to face the first round of the 2017 CIV Superbike, which will be held over the weekend of 21-23 April at the Enzo and Dino Ferrari international racetrack in Imola.
Building on the Italian Superbike championship title it won in 2016, the Italian team will field three riders this year, in the shape of expert Lorenzo Zanetti, the returning Eddi La Marra and new-arrival Timothy Joseph Cua Alberto, the first Filipino rider to try his hand in the Italian racing league.

TJ Alberto started racing motocross at just 4 years of years, moving on to ride a superbike when he was 15. He later competed in the national Filipino Superbike championship for three years and has now decided to compete in the prestigious and competitive CIV this season.
What were your impressions during the tests that you have carried out with Motocorsa Racing team?
After riding the Motocorsa Ducati Panigale bike, I can say I'm very happy with the bike's performance and the team's efficiency. On my side, I am working very hard to learn how to harness the full potential of the bike and become familiar with my new team. I have a great opportunity and I do not want to waste it.
What are your goals for the 2017 CIV SBK?
My goal is to learn as much as possible and to do my best to get the best possible results. I know the level of the Italian championship is very high, but I also know that Motocorsa Racing is a great team and so I am confident ahead of my 2017 season, which will begin in a few days' time at Imola.

As for the Superbike class, free practice will be held on Friday morning, while in the afternoon the riders of the Motocorsa Racing team will compete in the first qualifying session. Saturday morning will bring the second qualifying session, which will establish the starting grid for the races on Saturday afternoon and Sunday. Saturday's race will start at 2.35 pm, while Sunday's race will start at 3.30pm
