Race 1 at Magny Cours: Forés forced to retirement after a crash

It was a very unlucky race for the Barni Racing Team and his rider Xavi Forès at Nevers Magny Cours Circuit. On a wet race 1 in the 4,411 km of the french track, the Spaniard of the team lead by Marco Barnabò crashed at lap 2 going down due to the hit with the Van der Mark's Yamaha.

Even if the rider of the Barni Racing team was able to get back on track the accident irredeemably affected the race and Forés was forced to retirement because of the damage suffered dy his Ducati Panigale R.
Started from the fourth sport of the starting grid the Spaniard didn't have a quick start moved down in eight position. At lap 2 Van der Mark crashed at "Adelaide" turn and his bike remained in the middle of the road couldn't not be avoided by the flag bearer of the team from Bergamo. Got back on track in 20th position Forés prefers to retire while he was 17th but far from the 15th position which would bring some points for the championship. In the overall standings Forés lose seven points from van der Mark and see closer Camier (MV Augusta) which is now only 10 points far.

Marco Barnabò, Principal Manager
«Unfortunately everything goes wrong. In the crash we folded the handlebar and Xavi didn't manage any more to ride well. Maybe we would have suffer also some problems on the tyre but the accident prevent the rider to fight».

Xavi Forés, #12
«We are very unlucky, nor me neither the team we deserve this result. The rider who crashed had a dangerous overtake soon before the accident, than i found his bike in the middle of the track. Maybe i though the race is about to finish but it was only the second lap. I got back in the dabble of the bike but the folded handlebar forced me to ride physically and the rear tyre was stressed too much. I hope tomorrow everything would be different. I have to apologize the team for today and i hope to be able to conquer a good result in race 2».
