Xavi Forés is eighth on race 2 in Thailand

Xavi Forés ends Thai weekend in Chang, MOTUL WorldSBK second round, with a positive 8th place in race 2. Barni Racing Team rider, started by 11th spot due to the result of saturday's race, toke the same position after the first turn. At lap 4 a big crash for Lorenzo Savadori (Aprilia) - just after a technical fault - saw the red flag come out due to track conditions. After a quick restart procedure the riders did battle over 16 laps, with the starting grid established by the order at lap 4. Forés was on the 10th spot but a not brilliant re-start move him down at the restart, but - thanks to the Ducati Panigale R's reliability - he moved on De Angelis and he toke the final 8th place after Bradl and Camier dropped out. Thank to points gained in Thai round Forés is 6th on Championship overall standings with 34 points. WorldSBK Championship now come back in Europe and Barni Racing Team will return to action over the 31st March - 2nd April weekend at the aforementioned Pirelli Aragón Round, the third round of the 2017 season.

Marco Barnabò, Principal Manager
"We known this was one of the most difficult race for our bike and for Xavi, so we are quite satisfied to have improved the setup between the two race. Xavi was brilliant giving us good information because we hadn't enough time to test new regulations. Team crew had a great job and our Ducati stayed out of trouble while other official riders suffered technical problems. We would like to make some better, but looking at the standing overall championship we are happy to come home in sixth place".

Xavi Forés, #12
"It was a very tough race, but we finished both of manches and we stayed on top 10, so i'm happy. We know this was one of the worst track for us but we take some points for Championship and now we are sixth and this is not bad at all. I'm just start thinking to the next race, our fist goal is to find a way out of some problem we suffered here. The team had - as usual - a great job and i want to thank the crew".
