The forged wheels make for a weight reduction of 1.86 kg, while carbon fibre front and rear mudguards ensure lightness and entertainment.
With a fork that is 0.6 kg lighter than that of the Monster and Monster +, the fully adjustable Öhlins suspension heightens feeling as well as increasing both the ground clearance and lean angle.
Besides embellishing the control unit, it allows the braking to be adapted to different riding conditions, with the effect of improving precision in cornering and acceleration and stabilising the steering on connected backgrounds.
Benefitting from an updated braking system with Brembo Stylema® callipers and 320 mm aluminium-flange front discs (0.5 kg lighter than those equipping the Monster), the Monster 30° Anniversario ensures better braking performance but also greater agility with less inertia at the front.
Homologated, for a sportier look and performance with a yellow stripe to match the colour of the bike.
The adoption of a lithium-ion battery contributes to a total weight saving of roughly 2 kg with respect to the kerb weight of the standard model, which already sets a benchmark in the category in terms of lightness, as does the addition of components such as the steering damper and top fairing.
Made with premium padding, it is embellished with the dedicated color and thermoformed logo with the famous “S” on the saddle.
Standard equipment includes ABS Cornering, Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Wheelie Control, all adjustable to different levels of intervention. The sporty character of the new Monster Senna is also emphasized by Launch Control, which ensures lightning-fast starts. This top-of-the-line motorcycle equipment allows the Monster to safely express its performance.
Sport, Road and Wet Riding Modes allow you to mold the character of the Monster according to your tastes and needs. Everything is easily managed through the handlebar controls and the 4.3-inch color TFT dashboard.
The story that unites Ducati and Ayrton Senna began in the early 90s. Claudio
Castiglioni, the president of Ducati at that time, would often visit the Formula 1 circuits, where the Brazilian ace was setting the world alight with his talent and charisma.
Senna truly loved the world of motors. And after meeting with Castiglioni and becoming a personal friend, Senna also developed a passion for Ducati . He even received an 851 SP as a gift from the president in 1990 and one of the first red Monster bikes in 1993.
One day Castiglioni showed "Magic" a preview of what would be a revolutionary bike for Ducati and for the entire motorcycle industry: the Ducati 916. It was at that point that Senna decided the time had come to follow up on a project that the two had been cultivating for some time.
In March 1994, Ayrton Senna visited Ducati in Borgo Panigale to sign a contract that would result in the first motorcycle ever to bear his name: the Ducati 916 Senna.
A marriage with legendary connotations, between one of the most beautiful and desired motorcycles of the time and the most successful and best loved racer. It was Ayrton himself who chose the colour scheme, an anthracite grey base combined with the matte black of the lower fairings and a bright red that recalled the red of the "S” in the Senna logo.
The bike should have gone into production just a few weeks later, but Senna’s death on 1 May 1994 saw the project put on hold until the following winter, when it was presented at the Bologna Motorshow, in the presence of Ayrton’s sister Viviane, President of the Ayrton Senna Institute, and brother Leonardo.
The 300 units produced sold in a matter of days, which prompted Ducati and the Senna Foundation to produce two subsequent series, in 1997 and 1998. These limited runs of 300 units were again linked to important charitable initiatives just as the first had been, the motorcycles still a coveted collector's item even today.
The Monster Senna celebrates the immortality of the Brazilian driver, encapsulating those elements that made him such an iconic figure and capturing all the magic that continues to inspire and fascinate fans of both Ducati and this unforgettable champion.
To mark the thirtieth anniversary of the loss of “Magic”, a special numbered and limited edition, which takes up the livery of Ayrton’s iconic helmet.
