New Ducati Vehicle Observer (DVO) system
Derived from the Panigale V4, Ducati Vehicle Observer raises the Multistrada V4 Rally to a new level of safety and efficiency with electronic controls that act with greater precision. This function accurately estimates the position of the bike in space and the overall mass, simulating the input of 70 sensors in addition to data supplied by the inertial platform. Developed by Ducati Corse in MotoGP, Ducati Vehicle Observer refines the strategies of Cornering ABS, Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) and Ducati Traction Control (DTC) in its cornering version.
Better visibility and riding comfort for rider and passenger
Nighttime visibility is improved with respect to the previous model. Ducati Cornering Lights illuminate the road more effectively when turning and an optimised light unit reduces the shadow cone in front of the front wheel. On detecting any sudden braking, the Ducati Brake Light activates high-frequency flashing of the rear stop to increase bike visibility for those following behind.
At ease on any road with Ducati Semi-Active Suspension
On the Multistrada V4 Rally, the semi-active Marzocchi suspension with increased travel (200 mm) is managed by the Ducati Skyhook Suspension (DSS) Evolution system, which allows the suspension’s hydraulic damping to be customised even when on the move, independently of the selected Riding Mode. This means greater comfort during relaxing riding and increased support and precision when taking on more extreme routes. The advanced AUTO suspension mode offers two strategies that can adapt the bike to road conditions and riding style, whether on or off-road, automatically ensuring the optimum setting.
Intelligent safety system
The Multistrada V4 was the first bike to be equipped with a front and rear radar system, to support cutting-edge riding assistance technologies. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) automatically adjusts speed and distance from the vehicle ahead with controlled acceleration and braking, making long trips more comfortable and less tiring. Blind Spot Detection (BSD) detects any vehicles in the blind spot via LED lights positioned on the rear-view mirrors. Stability and safety are further boosted with the Electronic Combined Braking System that, with ABS level 3 - the default setting for Urban, Wet and Touring Riding Modes - automatically modulates the action at both front and rear.
New DQS 2.0
Greater feeling for more direct and smoother shifting with Ducati Quick Shift 2.0, which harnesses a strategy based solely on the gear drum’s positioning sensor, allowing for the use of a connecting rod without microswitch and offering the rider more direct feeling and reduced travel.
New Brembo rear brake with larger disc and regressive lever
The Multistrada V4 Rally front system comprises Brembo Stylema monobloc radial callipers, radial master cylinders with adjustable levers and two 330 mm front discs. The rear flaunts a more powerful new system, with a single disc - 280 mm in diameter and 6 mm thick - and a Brembo floating calliper.
New Jade Green/Brushed Aluminium livery avilable
The Multistrada V4 Rally is available with two liveries, both of which play on the contrast provided by the Ducati Red and Jade Green painted parts. The matte green of the new Jade Green/Brushed Aluminium livery stands out against the visible aluminium of the tank, while a gold-coloured rim channel highlights the globetrotting vocation of the Multistrada V4 Rally.
More comfortable and accessible for rider and passenger
The Multistrada V4 Rally is an ideal bike for two-up travel and is designed to guarantee the utmost comfort for both rider and passenger. The windscreen is now 40 mm higher and 20 mm wider, offering more protection than the Multistrada V4. A new die-cast support makes the top case more stable and secure, better supporting the passenger, while the position of the case fittings on the tail ensures ample room for a passenger’s legs. To ensure the rider can touch the ground easily and safely during low-speed manoeuvres, particularly with a passenger on board, the Multistrada V4 Rally integrates the Automatic Lowering Device, a system that lowers the bike when travelling below 10 km/h, before returning to the riding setting on reaching 50 km/h, in road riding modes, or 30 km/h in Enduro riding mode. Riding is more precise and efficient even at full load thanks to the aluminium monocoque frame, lightweight and compact, with double-sided swingarm in chill cast aluminium mounted on a pivot that is now higher to boost the anti-squat effect of the suspension and improve stability at full load.
Standard Equipment
Multistrada V4 Rally is a bike built to travel. The standard central stand is updated in design, to facilitate lifting of a stationary bike. Heated handgrips are now standard equipment and can be adjusted according to five temperature levels. The Multistrada V4 Rally comes with lightweight tubeless spoked wheels, which add to the bike’s dynamic qualities, and is fitted as standard with a TPMS sensor that displays tyre pressure on the dashboard, further heightening onboard safety.
170 hp V4 Granturismo engine
The Multistrada V4 Rally mounts the 1158 cc V4 Granturismo engine that can unleash 170 hp (125kW) at 10,750 rpm and 121 Nm (12.3 kgm) at 8750 rpm. Weighing just 66.7 kg, the V4 Granturismo sets a category benchmark with its power and lightness. Adding to its sophisticated character are advanced technical solutions such as the counter-rotating crankshaft, extended rear bank deactivation strategy, active both when stationary and at low rpm to reduce consumption, and the new Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) 2.0.
