Customer Service• Top 10 in qualifying at Uddevalla for Andrea Bonacorsi and the Desmo450 MX
The Swedish Grand Prix, the fifteenth round of the FIM Motocross World Championship season, takes place this weekend at the historic Uddevalla track. The facility, located on the west coast of the Scandinavian country, about 100 kilometers north of Gothenburg, has hosted Grand Prix races since 1958 and is one of the longest-running circuits on the entire MXGP calendar. At 1,645 meters long, the Swedish track features a hard and stony surface covered with sand, making it a technical and slippery surface to manage with.
Twelfth and thirteenth at the end of the timed practice session, Andrea Bonacorsi and Calvin Vlaanderen lined up for the start of the qualifying race, which gives the starting order for Sunday's motos. Passing the first corner in 11th place, Bonacorsi, riding his Desmo450 MX, managed to gain two positions over the 12-lap race, climbing to ninth place overall and earning two championship points. Twelfth behind his teammate in the early stages, the Red Bull Ducati Factory MXGP Team rider suffered a crash on lap seven, crossing the checkered flag in 15th place.
