• Top-ten finish for Calvin Vlaanderen in the British Grand Prix qualifying race
• Ferruccio Zanchi takes 9th in the MX2 qualifying race at Foxhills
This marks the twelfth round of the FIM Motocross World Championship. After a 26-year absence, the series returns to the iconic Foxhills circuit for the first of three races—spanning Great Britain, the Czech Republic, and Belgium over a three-week period—featuring Ducati riders. Practice sessions and the qualifying race for the British Grand Prix took place today at the British circuit, nestled in the hills of Wiltshire in southwest England.
On the long, uphill hard-pack track, Calvin Vlaanderen finished the timed practice session in fifteenth place but secured 13th position after a decent start. Riding the Desmo450 MX, the Red Bull Ducati Factory MXGP Team rider found a good rhythm in the opening laps, quickly moving up into the top ten. Running eighth until four laps from the end, the thirty-year-old Dutchman ultimately crossed the finish line in ninth place after the 12-lap race.
It was also a positive day for Ferruccio Zanchi, who finished the MX2 timed practice in 10th place aboard the Desmo250 MX. Tenth off the start, the Beddini Racing Ducati Factory MX2 Team rider lost a position during the opening laps but fought back during the race to finish solid ninth.
