• Top 10 for Jeremy Seewer in MXGP of Great Britain qualifying race
The Matterley Basin track, located a few miles from the city center of Winchester, hosts this weekend the twelfth round of the FIM Motocross World Championship. The track, always considered one of the most beautiful in the world, is dry and tough, due to temperatures that exceed 30° and a constant wind that dries the stony Hampshire ground. After finishing in 4th place in free practice and 12th in the timed session, Antonio Cairoli lines up his Desmo450 MX with the iconic #222 at the starting gate of the qualifying race ahead of Jeremy Seewer, 14th in timed practice. At the start of the heat the two riders start right out the top 10, with the nine-time World Champion 11th and the Swiss 13th. On a dusty and particularly treacherous track, the Italian manages to gain two positions, moving up to 9th place, followed by Seewer who is 11th. A mistake during the sixth lap caused Cairoli to lose two places and to be passed by his teammate. At the end of the 12 laps of the quali race Jeremy crosses the finish line in 10th, with Tony right behind him in 11th.
