The Ducati Multistrada V4 RS retains the unmistakable Multistrada line that has characterised the model for two decades. Elegant and dynamic, with technical solutions inspired by the most characteristic style elements of Borgo Panigale sport bikes, the Multistrada V4 RS was designed with just one goal: to be the sportiest tourer of all time, pushing Ducati sports DNA to new extremes.
On the Multistrada V4 RS every detail is meticulously designed to grab attention and surprise at every turn. Various carbon fibre components, such as the front mudguard, hand guards designed specifically for this model, heat shield and front “beak”, contrast harmoniously with the new RS livery and help reduce the overall weight.
Distinctive Multistrada V4 RS elements offer the perfect combination of thrilling performance and comfort. A slender and lightweight technopolymer tail section integrates the passenger grab handles and makes for a side profile that is sporty, sophisticated and striking. The titanium rear subframe, a technically refined component that accentuates the bike’s sports attitude, ensures a 2.6 kg weight saving with respect to the standard version and is also able to accommodate a top case for the first time. Rounding out the exclusive design, the aluminium single-sided swingarm that embodies elegance and beauty, further highlighting the sports soul of Multistrada V4 RS.
Designed by the Centro Stile, the RS livery becomes an important identifying feature of this bike. Featuring on the key and on the dash graphics, it marries well with the most distinctive traits of Ducati sports bikes. The series number appears on a black anodized aluminium place, complete with Italian flag and applied to the steering plate. Further enhancements include exclusive details in Ducati red, like the front brake calipers and wheel tags, which recall the Panigale soul and give the Multistrada V4 RS an added touch of sports attitude and elegance.
The only member of the Multistrada family to mount this engine, the V4 RS is equipped with the 1103 cc Desmosedici Stradale with race-derived dry clutch. The engine unleashes maximum power of 180 hp, with the limiter at 13,500 rpm, a value that guarantees sports performance while preserving the balance for which the Multistrada V4 has always stood out.
The heart of the Multistrada V4 RS is designed around the Desmodromic system, the Moto-GP derived technical signature of Ducati that can transform power and excellence into sheer riding pleasure on both road and track. Each component is designed to ensure safety and reliability, even with the extreme engine speeds of the V4. The Desmosedici Stradale is equipped with four camshafts that activate sixteen steel valves. The intake valves measure 34 mm in diameter, the exhaust valves 27.5 mm. The valve seats in sintered steel ensure resistance and durability even in the most extreme conditions.
As with the MotoGP prototypes, the crankshaft rotates in the opposite direction to the wheels. This configuration opposes the gyroscopic effect, to the benefit of handling and agility when changing direction, as well as reducing the tendency to wheelie in acceleration.
The valves are closed mechanically, ensuring the same precision as the opening phase. This allows for the use of more extreme cam profiles and timing that optimises the dynamic flow of intake and exhaust fluids, for an increase in performance. The camshafts are controlled by two “silent” timing chains. Front end, the chain drives the intake camshaft, which in turn transmits the movement to the exhaust camshaft via a pair of gearwheels, for a mixed gear and chain system. At the rear, the chain drives the exhaust camshaft, which transmits the movement to the intake shaft.
To improve consumption and thermal comfort, the Desmosedici Stradale deactivates the rear cylinder bank when the bike is stationary, in neutral or with an engine temperature of above 70° C.
The Multistrada V4 RS adopts a shorter final drive ratio than the Pikes Peak to exploit the delivery of the Desmosedici Stradale engine, while retaining the same assisted gear ratios with the new DQS 2.0. The new quick shift system harnesses a strategy based exclusively on a sensor’s measurement of the gear drum’s angular position, allowing for the use of a connecting rod without microswitch and offering the rider more direct feeling and reduced travel.
Like the Panigale V4 and Streetfighter V4, the Multistrada V4 RS is equipped with a billet aluminium STM-EVO SBK dry clutch, complete with specific configuration of anti-hopping springs and ramps.
As well as ensuring a smoother ride, particularly when braking and shifting, the dry clutch also contributes to enriching the sound thanks to its iconic and unmistakable metallic timbre when the clutch is released. Performance can be further heightened by using Ducati Corse Performance Oil Powered by Shell Advance, the result of collaboration between Ducati Corse and Shell in Superbike and MotoGP (+2.5 hp).

The configuration of the Multistrada V4 RS Desmosedici Stradale engine is Euro 5+ approved and adopts an exhaust system with titanium Akrapovič silencer developed specifically for this model.
In terms of service intervals, the Multistrada V4 RS requires a valve clearance check every 30,000 km.
The Multistrada V4 RS benefits from the targeted use of lightweight, high-performance materials, such as carbon fibre for the front mudguard, hand guards, heat shield and characteristic front “beak”. Added to these is the titanium subframe, which already makes for a 2.6 kg weight saving with respect to the standard version, lowering the overall weight – which comes in at 2 kg less than the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak and 6 kg less than the Multistrada V4 S - as well as highlighting the model’s sports attitude. The package is rounded out with a compact battery, designed to maximise weight efficiency without sacrificing performance and reliability.
The chassis of the Multistrada V4 RS is developed around the 17” front wheel that ensures real precision and responsiveness during sports riding. The frame is an aluminium monocoque, different to that used on the V4 S and Rally versions. It features 25.75° of rake compared to the 24.5° of other versions, with a resulting revision of the trail and wheelbase values. A setting designed to emphasise the bike’s sportiness, as previously seen on the V4 Pikes Peak.
The new Multistrada V4 RS mounts Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 suspension to ensure the best performance during sports riding thanks to the “event based” system, already used on the Panigale V4 S and Streetfighter V4 S. The system automatically adapts to the rider’s riding style, offering an ever-optimised, dynamic experience It is recalibrated for this model to deliver the best balance of everyday riding comfort and sports riding support. The suspension’s electronic strategies are optimised to offer greater support during sports riding, while ensuring greater comfort over long distances. There are four available Suspension Modes: Track, Dynamic, Touring and Low Grip. Depending on the type of route, riding style and road conditions, these heighten support and precision, or comfort and stability.
The new Multistrada V4 RS boasts a chassis that is even more efficient, enhanced with the elegance and sophistication of the aluminium single-sided swingarm, which contributes to the exclusive aesthetic of the sportiest Multistrada models.
The braking system on the new Multistrada V4 RS derives directly from that of the Panigale V4. At the front, the system comprises 330 mm discs and red Brembo Stylema monobloc callipers and at the rear, a single 280 mm disc and Brembo floating calliper. The system is managed by the Bosch-Brembo 10.3ME Cornering ABS.
2.7 kg lighter than the cast wheels of the Multistrada V4 S and specifically designed for this module, the aluminium forged wheels significantly improve vehicle dynamics, making the Multistrada V4 RS more responsive and efficient when changing direction. Rounding out the chassis package are Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV Corsa tyres measuring 120/170 at the front and 190/55 at the rear, to ensure excellent grip in acceleration and mid-turn.
The Multistrada V4 RS flaunts updated sports-style ergonomics, including footpegs that are higher and set back to increase the lean angle. The handlebar, now lower, narrower and with a less accentuated curve, is firmly fixed to the upper plate for more direct and precise riding feeling. With their soft materials and sporty design, new hand grips boost the comfort and control.
Every single detail is carefully selected on the new Multistrada V4 RS. The titanium rear subframe is now resized to be able to mount a top case.
The Multistrada V4 RS is made even safer and more efficient with electronic controls that act with greater precision. Shared with the Panigale V4, the new function known as Ducati Vehicle Observer (DVO) estimates in real time the forces acting on the vehicle and sustainable loads in different riding conditions, simulating the input of 70 sensors together with data supplied by the inertial platform. Developed by Ducati Corse in MotoGP, the DVO allows for even more sophisticated management of key systems such as Cornering ABS and Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC), improving stability, control and performance in every situation.
The Multistrada V4 RS electronics package includes the new Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) 2.0, which allows the rider to upshift without using the clutch or reducing the throttle. This system optimises the acceleration phases, making them quicker and smoother, and helps emphasise the bike’s dynamic performance.
In addition, the system allows for clutch-free downshifting, for quicker, smoother and more precise shifting even at low rpm.
Visibility on the Multistrada V4 RS is optimised with the full LED light that eliminates the dark area close to the front wheel, while the Ducati Brake Light EVO system increases braking safety, causing the rear turn signals to flash to increase visibility in the case of emergency braking, below 15 km/h. With the Forward Collision Warning (FWC) system and its three levels of sensitivity, the front radar warns the rider on the dash when a collision risk is identified.
The Multistrada V4 RS is equipped with an electronics package that comprises five Riding Modes (Race, Sport, Touring, Urban and Wet) and four Power Modes (Full, High, Medium and Low). Multistrada V4 RS is the only family member to offer Full Power Mode (associated by default with Race Riding Mode), which delivers maximum power in all gears and ensures a prompt throttle response.
The other Power Modes are:
The Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 suspension strategies are optimised to offer greater support during sports riding, while continuing to ensure a high level of comfort over long distances. The system works according to “event based” logic, adjusting itself based on riding style.
Another new feature allows the rider to select the suspension management strategy independently from the activated Riding Mode. The four Suspension Modes (Track, Dynamic, Touring and Low Grip) heighten support and precision, or comfort and stability depending on the type of route and road conditions, without altering the engine response or electronic control behaviour.
On the new Multistrada V4 RS, the electronics package includes front and rear radar technology as standard, with advanced rider assistance systems such as Adaptive Cruise Control, which automatically keeps the bike at a safe distance from the vehicle ahead, and Blind Spot Detection, which can help identify vehicles approaching from behind to further improve riding safety.
