Italian Pro Prestige MX2 Motocross Championship: pole position and podium for Alessandro Lupino in Castiglione del Lago

  • Pole position and podium for Alessandro Lupino in Castiglione del Lago

The fifth and penultimate round of the Italian Pro Prestige MX2 Motocross Championship season, took place today at the Castiglione del Lago circuit. Due to heavy rainfall on the Gioiella track, the organizers, together with the Motoclub Trasimeno, decided to modify the schedule, canceling Saturday's activities, with practice and race heats on Sunday.

After achieving the fastest time in his group and the pole position, Alessandro Lupino lined up for the first heat, determined to leverage his experience to bring home a prestigious result. Getting off to a good start on the Desmo250 MX, the Italian started in second place, limiting his risks on the treacherous and technical ground, and holding the position until the checkered flag. At the start of the second heat, Alessandro again got off to a good start and took the lead of the group on the first lap, holding the lead for a lap before relinquishing the position. With excellent pace, Lupino finished the second heat two seconds from the winner, securing two second-place finishes, earning the fourth podium of the year and consolidating his second position in the championship.

The next round of the Italian Motocross Championship, which concludes the 2025 series, will be held in Arco di Trento on September 27th and 28th.

Alessandro Lupino
“Today there was a lot of mud and the track became technical and demanding, so I'm happy to have scored the first pole position with the Desmo250 MX. In race one we didn't have the best suspension settings and I couldn't ride as well as I could. In the second race, however, I felt much better and I fought for the win, finishing two seconds behind the leader. We'll continue working to do even better in the final race of the year.”
