Reliability test ducati by Motociclismo

Motociclismo magazine performed a long-distance test on the Multistrada 950.

50,000 km travelled in just eight months. The Multistrada 950 has showed its true colors.

The top performer in the marathon was the engine: between the start and the end of the journey it gained over 4 HP, did not consume any oil and, when disassembled at the end of the test, it was still perfectly healthy.

As reported by the Motociclismo journalists, this endurance test was also a chance to appreciate the constant attention to improving the quality of the bikes leaving the Borgo Panigale factory and the long maintenance intervals, all indicating a high level of confidence in the product.

Engine in good form

As reported in the article, without a doubt the Multistrada engine proved to be the most "in good shape" of all the engines dismantled in the previous endurance tests. Practically no lubricant was consumed.

The con-rod and crankshaft bearing shells finished the 50,000 km test in excellent condition, particularly taking into account the duration and intensity of the test.

Sturdy clutch

The gearbox assembly was in mint condition both in terms of the gears and the minimal selector fork wear.

Brakes

The effectiveness of combined braking was always ensured by the high performance Brembo-Bosch combo. As reported in the article, the wear of the brake pads proved to be well below what was seen in other endurance tests carried out by Motociclismo on other vehicles.

Perfect paint and no oxidisation

The Motociclismo test demonstrated the excellent quality of the Multistrada 950's finishes, treatments and materials.

The bolts and the various steel and light alloy components showed no signs of oxidisation at the end of the test.

The body, engine and frame paint finished the test in excellent condition.

The finish of the exhaust manifolds and silencer also showed little to no sign of oxidisation, even on the front manifold which is more exposed to the weather.
