The first two free practice sessions for the Spanish Round, the twelfth and final round of the 2026 WorldSBK season, took place today at Jerez de la Frontera today.
Nicolò Bulega finished FP1 in first but couldn't improve his lap time in the afternoon, as none of the eight fastest riders in the combined standings could, partly due to less-than-ideal track conditions.
Iker Lecuona had a similar day, finishing third, three tenths of a second behind his teammate.
Nicolò Bulega (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati #11)
"I'm quite happy with what we achieved today, even though the track was a bit dirty. I also had to deal with a bee that stung me on the neck during FP2, which made things particularly challenging. But these things happen. What really matters is that I had a good feeling on the bike."
Iker Lecuona (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati #7)
"We knew this wasn't one of my favourite circuits, but I was still hoping to find a better feeling on the bike. We struggled quite a lot today, especially with the tires losing performance almost immediately. We'll analyse the data to understand where we can improve ahead of tomorrow."
