The Ducati Lenovo Team ready for Hungary: for the first time we will race at Balaton Park

After 33 years racing returns to Hungary, this time at Balaton Park, the circuit built on the shores of Lake Balaton that hosts the 14th round of the 2025 season. The historic TT was held on Hungarian soil just outside Budapest between 1924 and 1931, but it wasn't until 1990 that the Hungarian GP – at the Hungaroring – hosted the Premier Class (only two editions, 1990 and 1992). This is a true debut for the Ducati Lenovo Team and its riders.

With just a few hours to recharge batteries after the Austrian GP and coming from his ninth win of the season, his sixth in a row, Marc Márquez will return at work on the Desmosedici GP with the aim of further extending his streak of positive results. Despite testing with the Panigale V4S at Balaton Park in early August, there are still many unknowns for a circuit making its debut on the MotoGP calendar.

Pecco Bagnaia, who is coming from a difficult weekend in Spielberg, has also been on track to familiarize with the Hungarian circuit in recent weeks. At Austrian GP after a positive balance in the practices, he was unable to translate it into the race and repeat his achievements of the last three editions.

For both riders first appointment scheduled on Friday, August 22nd, at 10:45 a.m. local time, for the first free practice session.

Marc Márquez (#93 Ducati Lenovo Team) - 1st (418 points)
“I'm very happy, I finally got the win in Austria! It was missing from my bucket list and I'm also very happy to have done it with Ducati. They've overtaken me for three consecutive years right at the last corner before the checkered flag. That said, we'll get back on track at Balaton, a track where we have no reference points other than the data from the Panigale V4S. Obviously, it will be a different story; we're expecting a slightly more challenging Friday than usual with many unknowns, this time not just related to the weather.”

Francesco Bagnaia (#63 Ducati Lenovo Team) - 3rd (221 points)
“I'm happy to get back on track straight away and put the Austrian GP behind me. After a good Friday, we have struggled. We'll continue analyzing the data and get back to work. On the Balaton track, we're all starting from scratch. As Ducati, we need to take advantage of having ridden here in early August. We need to understand the real limit with a bike like the Desmosedici GP, which, compared to the Panigale V4S, has much more potential.”
