MCN takes the Panigale V4 S and SuperSport on track to give some track riding tips.
Chief Road Tester Michael 'Neevesy' Neeves took new rider and MCN Online Editor Gareth Evans on track, to teach him the basics of the art of riding a motorcycle on track.
Their bikes of choice for their day on track, was the Ducati Panigale V4 S for the more experienced and skilled Michael Neeves, and the Ducati SuperSport S, for track newcomer Gareth Evans.
Year on year, the Panigale V4 has been updated to become faster and more exciting on the track for both the amateur and the professional rider. Ducati has also worked hard, to make the Panigale V4 an easier bike to ride for all levels. It is for this reason that the Panigale V4 S, is the perfect choice for Michael Neeves to use at the Anglesey circuit. The Panigale V4 S features a state-of-the-art electronics and aerodynamics package, to harness a power output of 214hp to enable a manageable yet exciting ride.
For Gareth Evans, the SuperSport S is the perfect partner for a new rider on track. With a power output of 110hp, the SuperSport is ideal for those either taking to the track for the first time, or someone who requires a bike that is ideal for commuting, long distances and on the track.
The SuperSport S inspires confidence with its user-friendly power output, combined with a relaxed yet sporty riding position. Visually it takes its styling cues from the Panigale V4, and also incorporates an electronics package expected of a modern-day Ducati sports bike.
Gareth Evans – MCN Online Editor
“I was blown away by the Supersport, having spent my fledgling riding career on far lesser machinery. The V-twin engine has so much torque, and combined with the quickshifter it allowed me to concentrate more on my lines, and less on worrying about gear changes.
“But the real surprise for me was how comfortable and approachable it was. Despite being the perfect partner on the circuit I was worried I’d be aching like a demon after four full-on sessions with Mr Neeves, and in reality I could have carried on for a fifth. We ran out of time though, sadly! Next time…”
