When the original DesertX launched in 2022 it broke new ground, literally – taking the Ducati off-road game to a whole new level while still having a level of poise to take on-road riding in its stride. Now, after years of blazing new trails and allowing riders to embark on all-new adventures the Dakar inspired original makes way for the new 890cc V2 powered DesertX.

Along with it comes a host of ergonomic and electronic upgrades, a natural evolution of extensive field testing and development – the new DesertX fully embodies an authentic off‑road attitude with real world riding capability. The press took it for a spin in the varied terrain of Almeria, Spain, check out the reviews below and see if it came up to scratch.
