High-performance Desmo450 single cylinder
The Desmo450 MX is built around its beating heart: the 450 single-cylinder with desmodromic timing. The engine delivers maximum power of 63.5 hp at 9400 rpm and maximum torque of 53.5 Nm at 7500 rpm. The limiter is set at 11,900 rpm. Such high engine speeds reduce the need for gear changes, enabling faster starts and helping riders target the holeshot.
Showa suspension with Dark Kashima and TiO coating
The Desmo450 MX Factory adopts lightweight, high-performance Showa suspension, designed to ensure race-level reliability and efficiency. At the front is a 49 mm fork, adjustable in compression and rebound, complete with Dark Kashima coating for performance closer to that of the factory bikes. At the rear, a shock with progressive linkage, adjustable in compression. The fork and shock stanchions are TiO coated, increasing surface hardness by 60% and reducing friction by 10%, while also heightening the resistance to chips and abrasions caused by sand and debris.
Akrapovič full titanium exhaust
The Akrapovič exhaust is full titanium and allows for a weight saving of 1.7 kg, helping to limit the bike’s overall weight to just 104 kg. In combination with dedicated engine mapping, this results in a fuller torque curve and stronger top-end performance, for even greater overall efficiency.
Race components
The Desmo450 MX Factory integrates components developed for racing, such as the Holeshot device that guarantees greater stability and increased acceleration. Its equipment is rounded out with a disc protector and engine guard plate, designed to protect the braking system and engine from mud, stones and debris during off-road riding. Billet Ergal steering plates offer greater stiffness and ensure a weight reduction of roughly 200 grams.
Ducati Com-Link Wi-Fi module
The Ducati Com-Link Wi-Fi module allows the rider to use the Ducati X-Link app to customise their Desmo450 MX Factory and monitor it quickly and intuitively. The rider can use the app to configure the two riding modes, adjusting throttle response, engine brake, Ducati traction control and launch control. Ducati X-Link acquires data such as engine speed, throttle position, atmospheric temperature and pressure, as well as providing suggestions for the best suspension setup based on a rider’s weight and experience level and the type of terrain. With this module, service intervals are scheduled based on actual engine usage (predictive maintenance).
Strong, lightweight aluminium frame
The Desmo450 MX Factory flaunts a lightweight aluminium frame that comprises just 11 elements, minimising the number of weld joints. The result is a frame that weighs just 8.96 kg, achieved by combining cast, forged and extruded components with the utmost Ducati engineering precision.
Brembo/Galfer braking system and new Pirelli Scorpion MX32 tyres
The Desmo450 MX Factory is equipped with a high-quality braking system comprising Brembo callipers and master cylinder. At the front is a two-piston floating caliper, while the rear comprises a single-piston floating caliper to ensure power and modulation in every situation. Galfer discs, 260 mm at the front and 240 mm at the rear, ensure precise braking and contribute to improving the overall handling. The Desmo450 MX Factory mounts the new Pirelli Scorpion MX32 tyres, for guaranteed grip and performance in all ground conditions.
Improved ergonomics with new gear/brake pedal tips and new fuel cap
The Desmo450 MX introduces a new gear shift pedal tip, to improve ergonomics and ensure gear shifting is natural and precise, and a brake pedal tip with a larger contact area for greater stability and control, even during intense riding phases. The new fuel cap with increased diameter of 40mm heightens practicality and speeds up refuelling at the track.
New rear sprocket
The rear sprocket now features 51 teeth, up from 49 previously, increasing the torque delivered to the wheel and making the Desmo450 MX Factory even more responsive out of the corner and, particularly, when accelerating from low speeds.
Dedicated new Factory graphics
With an even more striking design, the graphics on the Desmo450 MX Factory reinforce the bike’s racing identity for a look that is even more distinctive, recognisable and modern.
New predictive maintenance
A groundbreaking off-road innovation, developed through experience in MotoGP. The engine’s service intervals are calculated based on intensity of use. Maintenance is split into two types of service: MID Service, which involves piston replacement and valve clearance check, and FULL Service, for a complete engine overhaul. Both intervals vary depending on wear and conditions of usage, for optimum long-term performance and reliability.
