Journey Highlights
Day 1 – San Francisco

San Francisco is one of America's most iconic cities, where rolling hills meet the Pacific Ocean. Its steep streets, historic cable cars and the world-famous Golden Gate Bridge create a unique atmosphere, while breathtaking views over the bay make every corner unforgettable. More than a destination, San Francisco is the perfect gateway to an extraordinary journey through the American West.

Day 2 – San Francisco to Monterey (230 km / 145 mi)

The morning is dedicated to exploring San Francisco before heading south along the spectacular Pacific coastline. The route follows the ocean through dramatic cliffs and sweeping coastal views, reaching the charming village of Carmel-by-the-Sea, where art and nature meet, before arriving in historic Monterey, a town whose famous harbour and lively Cannery Row still reflect California's rich maritime heritage.

Day 3 – Monterey – Big Sur – Sequoia National Park (440 km / 275 mi)

The ride follows the legendary Pacific Coast Highway, America's most iconic scenic road, winding between dramatic cliffs and the Pacific Ocean. Stops include the famous Bixby Creek Bridge and McWay Falls, where a waterfall cascades directly onto the beach.

Leaving the coastline behind, the route heads inland to Sequoia National Park, home to the majestic giant sequoias—among the oldest and tallest trees on Earth, some over 3,000 years old and rising more than 90 metres (295 ft) into the sky.

Day 4 – Sequoia National Park – Yosemite National Park (301 km / 195 mi)

One of the most spectacular days of the journey begins among the majestic giant sequoias, home to the legendary General Sherman Tree, the largest tree on Earth, standing at the heart of the Giant Forest. The route then winds through pristine mountain forests before reaching Yosemite National Park, one of America's most celebrated national parks, renowned for its towering granite cliffs, magnificent waterfalls and breathtaking natural landscapes.

Day 5 – Yosemite National Park – Lake Tahoe (400 km / 250 mi)

The day begins in Yosemite Valley, surrounded by the iconic granite walls of El Capitan and Half Dome, and the spectacular Yosemite Falls, plunging 739 metres (2,425 ft) to the valley floor. The route winds through dense conifer forests, alpine valleys, rivers and hidden lakes as the elevation gradually rises, revealing landscapes of extraordinary beauty.

Climbing through the Sierra Nevada, the journey ends on the shores of the crystal-clear Lake Tahoe, where the setting sun paints the water in shades of pink and orange, creating an unforgettable finale to the day.

Day 6 – Lake Tahoe – Bonneville Salt Flats (760 km / 480 mi)

One of the most iconic stages of the American West, today's ride follows much of the legendary U.S. Route 50, famously known as "The Loneliest Road in America." Here, the highway becomes an endless ribbon of asphalt stretching across the horizon, with seemingly infinite straight roads cutting through vast open landscapes.

The scenery constantly evolves, from sun-scorched desert plains to rugged mountain ranges rising dramatically from the valley floor. Crossing into Utah, the journey reaches the extraordinary Bonneville Salt Flats—a vast white salt desert that has witnessed some of the most legendary land speed records ever set, becoming a true symbol of mankind's pursuit of speed and the impossible.

Day 7 – Bonneville Salt Flats – Bear Lake (390 km / 245 mi)

Leaving the Bonneville Salt Flats behind, the route heads towards Salt Lake City beneath an immense sky, across vast open landscapes where silence and endless horizons create an almost otherworldly atmosphere. As the city approaches, the shimmering waters of the Great Salt Lake come into view, reflecting shades of grey, pink and gold.

After a stop in Salt Lake City, the journey continues north as the scenery gradually changes. The road climbs through the scenic Logan Canyon, winding between pine forests, rocky cliffs and mountain streams, before revealing the striking turquoise waters of Bear Lake, nestled among the surrounding peaks.

Day 8 – Bear Lake – Jackson Hole (250 km / 155 mi)

The landscape gradually transforms as the route enters Idaho, passing through Idaho Falls before following the course of the Snake River, while the surrounding mountains begin to dominate the horizon.

Crossing into Wyoming, vast open prairies give way to the dramatic peaks of Grand Teton National Park, which rise abruptly above the landscape in one of the most breathtaking mountain ranges in North America. The road winds along the foot of the Teton Range, passing crystal-clear lakes that mirror the jagged summits and dense pine forests scented with fresh resin.

The day ends in Jackson Hole, where forests, rivers and towering mountains come together to welcome you into one of the wildest and most spectacular valleys of the American West.

Day 9 – Jackson Hole – West Yellowstone (255 km / 160 mi)

The journey begins in Jackson Hole as the first light of day illuminates its wooden buildings and Old West atmosphere. The road gradually climbs into the mountains, where dense forests and vast open skies signal the approach to one of America's greatest natural wonders.

Entering Yellowstone National Park, the landscape comes alive with steaming ground, bubbling hot springs and powerful geysers. The legendary Old Faithful erupts skyward, while wooden boardwalks lead through surreal geothermal pools glowing in deep blues, vivid oranges and vibrant greens.

The route then skirts the shores of Yellowstone Lake, the largest high-altitude lake in North America, whose crystal-clear waters and sweeping views create one of the park's most iconic landscapes. The final miles to West Yellowstone unfold through quiet meadows, pine forests and immense skies, painted gold and crimson by the setting sun.

Day 10 – West Yellowstone – Boise National Forest (570 km / 350 mi)

A day immersed in the wild heart of the American West, where endless roads lead through the dramatic landscapes of the Rocky Mountains, authentic frontier towns and vast golden prairies. Leaving West Yellowstone, the route crosses open valleys, winding rivers and expansive wilderness that perfectly capture the spirit of the American frontier.

The final stretch delivers one of the most rewarding rides of the expedition. Flowing mountain roads wind through the spectacular Sawtooth Mountains, surrounded by pristine forests and some of the most breathtaking scenery in the Pacific Northwest, before arriving at a secluded mountain village.

As the engine falls silent, the journey continues in your mind—a day defined by unforgettable roads, endless horizons and the pure freedom of riding through some of America's most extraordinary landscapes.

Day 11 – Boise National Forest – Lakeview (730 km / 445 mi)

Today's ride crosses some of the most authentic landscapes of the American Northwest. Leaving the forests and remote valleys of Idaho, the route gradually enters the vast open spaces of southern Oregon, where volcanic plateaus, expansive lakes and endless horizons define the scenery.

Fast-flowing roads, unspoilt wilderness and sweeping panoramic stretches make for a rewarding day in the saddle. The journey ends in Lakeview, known as the "Tallest Town in Oregon" at 1,460 metres (4,790 ft) above sea level. Surrounded by ranches, wide-open landscapes and boundless skies, the town preserves the timeless character of the historic American frontier.

Day 12 – Lakeview – Trinity National Forest (580 km / 360 mi)

From Oregon's volcanic plateaus and mountain forests to the rugged Pacific coastline, this is one of the great crossings of North America. The route winds through remote mountains, deep canyons and endless forests before entering Humboldt Redwoods State Park, home to the legendary Avenue of the Giants—a spectacular 50-kilometre drive beneath towering redwoods, some rising over 100 metres (330 ft) into the sky.

The scenery then opens dramatically onto the Pacific Ocean, revealing wild beaches, rugged cliffs and windswept bays. The final miles offer flowing curves, the scent of the ocean and the unmistakable atmosphere of California's historic coastal towns, with their wooden buildings, old-style saloons and timeless frontier charm.

An unforgettable day where wilderness, freedom and the spirit of adventure come together on one extraordinary road.

Day 13 – Trinity National Forest – Mendocino (320 km / 200 mi)

One of the most iconic riding days of the expedition unfolds between towering forests and the Pacific coastline. The route follows the legendary California State Route 36, regarded by many American motorcyclists as one of the finest riding roads in the United States. Endless curves, deep canyons, remote mountains and sweeping valleys create the perfect connection between rider, motorcycle and road.

As the journey continues south, the Pacific Ocean once again takes centre stage, with dramatic coastal scenery, dense forests and rugged cliffs accompanying every mile. The day ends in Mendocino, a picturesque seaside village perched above the ocean, where historic wooden houses overlook windswept cliffs and endless sunsets.

Here, time seems to slow down. Waves crash against the rocky shoreline below, the air is filled with the scent of salt and pine, and the warm evening light transforms California's coastline into a breathtaking, almost cinematic landscape.

Day 14 – Mendocino – San Francisco (290 km / 180 mi)

The Pacific Ocean is your constant companion on the final riding day, as the route follows the legendary California State Route 1, one of North America's most spectacular coastal roads. The highway winds between rugged cliffs and the endless blue of the ocean, where crashing waves alternate with stretches hidden beneath towering coastal forests.

Gradually, nature gives way to the first signs of the city. In the distance, the iconic Golden Gate Bridge emerges, suspended between sky and sea like a monumental gateway. Crossing it marks the return to San Francisco, carrying with you unforgettable memories of deserts, forests, mountain roads and endless coastlines—an extraordinary journey whose spirit will continue long after the ride has ended.
