DesmoSport Ducati & Waters Set to Make ASBK Splash

DesmoSport Ducati has arrived at Phillip Island ahead of the first three 11-lap races of the 2027 championship, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday alongside MotoGP this weekend, and revealed their new livery for the season ahead. With 5-time ASBK Champion Josh Waters behind the bars for just one Free Practice prior to Qualifying, it's set to be an action-packed weekend of racing despite a somewhat damp weather forecast.

DesmoSport Ducati Team Owner, Ben Henry: "It really has been a crazy lead up to get this season underway, but I'm really excited to get Josh on track come Friday morning. As you can see, we have our new Panigale V4 R built and capable of racing, however, with an additional RPM reduction, we still need a few more test days on the new bike, and so you will see Josh racing our previous generation Panigale this weekend that has had a ground up, nut and bolt rebuild since the end of the last season. We have a team of great people around us and I just really want to get to racing!"

DesmoSport Ducati Rider, Josh Waters: "I’m excited for round one of the ASBK 2027 summer series. I’ll try my best over the weekend and I know my team will also. Phillip Island is a great circuit to race and to be at the final Moto GP event here will make it even more special."
