Borgo Panigale (Bologna, Italy), November 26, 2025 – Production has started at the Borgo Panigale plant for the new Monster, the fifth generation of a true motorcycling icon. Originally launched in 1992, the Monster was born from a brilliantly simple formula: “Everything you need, nothing more.” This concept has brought riders together worldwide, creating the Monsteristi community, who for more than thirty years have celebrated the spirit and identity of the Monster.

The fully redesigned Monster combines lightness and cutting-edge technology with an unmistakable style. Its design reinterprets the original Monster in a modern way, restoring signature elements that have always set it apart: the headlight framed by the “shoulders” of the bison-back tank, the one-piece seat, and the short, lightweight tail section.

Thanks to its unique V-twin engine, the new Monster is slim, sporty, and offers very low running costs. The new V2 is lightweight and high-performing, featuring IVT (Intake Variable Timing) which delivers smoothness at low revs, punch in the midrange, and power at high revs—80% of maximum torque is available from 4,000 to 10,000 rpm. The 28,000-mile (45,000 km) valve clearance check interval, an industry benchmark, keeps maintenance costs very low.

The new Monster uses the engine as a structural element and features a monocoque frame, a double-sided swingarm inspired by the Panigale V4, and a rear subframe made of technopolymer and trellis. This design, combined with the light Ducati V2 engine, reduces weight by 9 lbs (4 kg), bringing the dry weight to 386 lbs (175 kg)—the lightest ever among four-valve models—while enhancing agility and handling. Showa suspension is tuned to deliver both everyday comfort and sporty performance on twisty roads, reflecting the dual nature of Ducati’s naked bike. The result is a motorcycle that is always stable, safe, and fun.

The 2026 Monster offers a more accessible and comfortable riding position thanks to a lower seat than the previous model (32.1 in / 815 mm, which can drop to 30.5 in / 775 mm with the low seat and accessory lowering kit) and a higher, more forward handlebar for improved control and comfort.

Four Riding Modes (Sport, Road, Urban, Wet) and the advanced electronics package—including DTC, DWC, EBC, and cornering ABS—make the Monster intuitive and versatile. Ergonomic handlebar controls simplify operation of electronic functions on a 5-inch TFT display, which is compatible with the Ducati Multimedia System and turn-by-turn navigation. The display offers dual day/night modes and Road and Road Pro Info modes for optimal readability in all conditions.

For riders who want to make the Monster uniquely their own, Ducati Performance offers a range of accessories to enhance its aesthetics, including carbon fiber details and machined aluminum parts, as well as a sport seat with Alcantara upholstery. Sport enthusiasts will also appreciate homologated silencers with titanium sleeves and carbon end caps, developed with Termignoni, which reduce weight by 0.4 lbs (0.2 kg) and enhance the Monster’s unmistakable character.

The presentation video of the new Monster is available on the Ducati YouTube channel. The press kit, with complete technical information and additional photos, is available on Ducati Media House.
