DesmoSport Ducati primed for Super weekend

Desmosport Ducati return to Queensland Raceway (QR) this weekend (August 8-10) where the fifth round of the Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) will race alongside the V8 Supercars. Broc Pearson will aim to continue his upward trajectory in the points and capture that first elusive victory of the season with the added intensity of having the focus solely on the Superbike field.

Last time out at Morgan Park Pearson claimed a double podium finish and the Gold Coast local will once again be keen to put on a strong showing for his Queensland fans. The Next Gen Supersport class will be joining the Superbikes on track this round, where Luca Durning will look to defend his points lead in the class and continue the development of the Desmosport Ducati Panigale V2.

Team Owner, Ben Henry: "We're looking forward to this second round at Queensland Raceway this weekend. It's always a buzz racing alongside the V8 Supercars and of course, it's another home round for us. We've had some limited testing back at Morgan Park where we were able to test a software update from MoTeC. It targeted issues with wheelie control and the start map in particular, so we're hoping that will translate into Broc getting off the line better and finding those few tenths we're looking for. We'd always like more testing laps but the encouraging sign is that Broc noticed the benefits of the MoTeC update right away, so we're all excited to go back racing."

Broc Pearson: "Coming off Morgan Park it was refreshing to get back on the podium and take something positive from the weekend. If I'm honest, this year has been a little deflating because of how strong the results were at the end of last year; we really wanted to continue that winning run. Changing to MoTeC this year has added some challenges and the first six months hasn't shaped up how we all wanted, but leaving Morgan Park with two podiums lifts the whole team. To top it off, we'll be racing in front of my family, friends and all our home fans at Queensland Raceway. When you factor in the V8 Supercars - where Mike Jones and I have been involved in some of the promotional work, it adds an extra layer of excitement for everyone."
