HomeBoth Bryan Staring and Broc Pearson are set race their DesmoSport Ducati Panigale V4 R superbikes over the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix weekend. A stand-alone race weekend, with no championship points on offer, the weekend is an opportunity for DesmoSport Ducati to reunite with European counterparts and enjoy the spectacular weekend that is MotoGP with fans, friends and team partners.
Team co-owner, Ben Henry: "MotoGP is always a great weekend, and this year even more than usual. We'll race as we always do, and obviously it's great to be able get some laps in at Phillip Island. Bryan hasn't ridden there since the Ducati Track Day and Broc's never ridden the Panigale V4 R there, so it will be good to get back on track. We'll take the opportunity to catch up with a lot of our team partners, the Ducati team and this year we have an interest in the Ducati stand on Gardiner straight."
Bryan Staring: "Racing at the GP is always a bit of fun. Some of our on-track times are less than ideal, and it's looking like it will be pretty cold this weekend, so I'm not sure we'll be seeing lap record pace, but any time we can get on track is valuable when we're preparing to race the next round of the ASBK here. On the way over from Perth, I stopped in at The Bend on my way over to get a few laps in there and I'm feeling really good on and off the bike right now and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at Phillip Island."
Broc Pearson: "It's my first MotoGP weekend on a Superbike, and my first laps at Phillip Island on the DesmoSport Ducati Panigale V4 R so I'm really looking forward to getting back on the bike. It's a fun weekend, with no pressure on performing so I'll use the time on track to understand how the Panigale V4 R wants to be ridden at Phillip Island and work with the team to find the best setting for me as we prepare to race here with World Superbikes. I'm motivated to do well every time I pull the helmet on though, so there's no doubt that I'll still be looking for a good result for both myself and the team."
Team co-owner, Troy Bayliss: "It's been a while since the MotoGP circus has been here and it's great to have it back. Although I've spent some time at tracks in Europe with Oli this year, I'm really looking forward to seeing all the familiar faces in the MotoGP paddock on the weekend. Broc and Bryan get to use the time to fine tune the bikes, while Ben and I will take some time to catch up some of our team partners both from here at home and overseas."
