Voight masters Morgan Park as McMartin Racing with K-Tech secure ASBK Teams Title

Harry Voight had the perfect weekend at home in Queensland, completely dominating round four of the ASBK championship with pole position and two race wins. Teammate and reining champion Josh Waters also claimed a front row start and two podiums at Morgan Park over the weekend of 29-31May.

Friday was scheduled to hold the usual three practice sessions, but wet weather and cool windy conditions meant both riders chose to not take to the track in any of the thirty-minute sessions.

Saturday mornings free practice session was held in vastly improved conditions and provided the first opportunity for Josh Waters and Harry Voight to take to the track, and they immediately got down to business. Josh Waters on the Onyabike Adventures KW Civil McMartin Racing with K-Tech V4R and Harry Voight on the Voight Contracting KW Civil McMartin Racing with K-Tech V4R both spent time at the top of the timesheets, considering it was the first time on track for the weekend second for Harry and third for Josh was an indication of what was to come for the remainder of the round.

Qualifying was more of the same with the two McMartin Racing with K-Tech riders dominating the top of the timesheets, the Voight Contracting KW Civil McMartin Racing with K-Tech V4R of Harry Voight taking Pole position with Josh Waters on the Onyabike Adventures KW Civil McMartin Racing with K-Tech V4R a mere .146 behind in second.

Sunny but cool conditions combined with the lessons learnt at the previous round saw calculated tyre selection once again allow the McMartin Racing with K-Tech Team dominate race day.

In race one Harry got a brilliant start from pole position and lead the field into turn one with Josh right on his tail in second. Harry was clearly on a mission from the get-go and had opened a gap of just over .3 at the completion of the first lap, Josh had managed to put a similar gap on third place as the McMartin Racing duo exerted their dominance. Unfortunately for the rest of the field the pace did not let up as Harry and Josh rode away from their competitors, Harry recording the fastest lap of the race on lap three, the only rider to dip into the 12’s in the entire race on his was to victory. Josh meanwhile was lapping consistently in the low 13’s for almost the entire race to eventually finish over seven seconds ahead of third place.

Sunday’s second race was almost a carbon copy of race one with Harry getting the run to turn one after another brilliant start, Josh piling on the pressure in second. Josh was relegated to third on the run out of turn four as Mike Jones pushed his way past attempting to run the pace of race leader Voight on the Voight Contracting KW Civil McMartin Racing with K-Tech V4R. A few corners later Harry had a big slide but unfazed continued to push the pace at the front Jones in hot pursuit. By lap three Josh has pulled Jones back slightly and the top three once again rode away from the field. Harry took the win over Jones by 4.6 seconds with Josh on the Onyabike Adventures KW Civil McMartin Racing with K-Tech V4R taking third, almost six seconds ahead of fourth.

The strong results of this round, combined with the consistent race wins and podiums of the previous rounds from both riders resulted in the McMartin Racing with K-Tech Team securing the ASBK Teams Championship with a round remaining.

In the championship standings after round four Harry Voight has extended his championship lead over teammate Josh Waters to twenty-four points with one round and two races remaining in the championship race.

The final round of the 2026 ASBK Championship will be held at Queensland Raceway on the weekend of 26-28 June.

“Great weekend for us in Morgan Park” commented ASBK Championship leader and round winner Harry Voight. “We were able to get pole and two race wins; it doesn’t get any better. Thank you to the team for their hard work and congratulations to everyone in our team for securing the team’s championship. It shows how hard everyone is working, and it is a big credit to Craig McMartin. Looking forward to the final round at Queensland raceway at the end of this month”.

“Morgan Park was always going to be tough having not ridden there since the race last year” commented reining ASBK Champion Josh Waters. “The weather conditions on Friday didn't help with it being wet all day but I was happy with how I was able to get up to speed. Second on the grid and to finish second and third in the two races was good, but not enough in a short championship when trying to make back points. The way I see it is the pressure is off me now, I'll go to the final round at Queensland Raceway and have some fun. As always, a huge thanks to my team for all their hard work and also our sponsors”.

“Another great weekend of racing with Harry getting pole position and two wins and Josh getting second and third” said KW Civil McMartin Racing with K-Tech Team Owner Craig McMartin. “Both Harry and Josh rode amazingly well considering they had no testing here or track time on Friday because of the rain. The team worked extremely hard making a lot of changes on Saturday so winning the team’s championship is a great reward for every single one of them, they work so hard every race weekend to get the bikes ready for each session so the riders can ride with confidence. Of course, I also need to acknowledge the continued support of all our dedicated sponsors who make this success possible.
