How the dream became reality

Ducati Superleggera V4

Superleggera or rather ‘Superlight’ began as a project in 2014, with the first incarnation to receive the now legendary embodiment of exotic extremes, the 1199 Panigale. The ideal of the ultimate expression of Ducati sports performance quickly gathered pace and was followed up in 2017 by the truly awe-inspiring 1299 Panigale in an all-carbon Superleggera treatment. The birth of the V4 platform meant development of the Superleggera V4 was a certainty and now, for 2020 the dream has taken shape.

THE CARBON EFFECT EXTREME PERFORMANCE YOU WANT MORE?
  • The Superleggera V4 is the first-ever road bike to feature a full carbon frame, with the front twin-spar section and swingarm saving a total of 2.4kg. Grammage is also shaved thanks to the entire fairing being comprised of carbon fibre. Internal components also received the weight saving treatment where possible with exotic materials replacing already premium elements to spare no expense in the quest for lightness.
  • With so much weight being saved and the road-going power figure of 224hp (234hp when equipped with the track-only full Akrapovič exhaust system), the Superleggera V4 has been equipped with what can only be described as a weapons-grade electronics package to help manage the raw potential on road and track. Performance is further ensured thanks to huge advancements in aerodynamic profiling which led to the inclusion of carbon fibre biplane wings that create staggering levels of downforce.
  • Every 1 of the 500 Superleggera V4 models sold is a demonstration of the technological innovation and the most advanced engineering that Ducati is capable of. As well as delivering incredible emotions and experiences to all of the lucky owners, each model comes with a few extra features. A welcome gift in the form of a specially sculpted reproduction will be issued, and to make it as unique as possible, this prestigious sculpture will be numbered to match its life-size counterpart. A letter of acknowledgement and fully featured certificate of authenticity is also included.
