On the first day we left the Brazilian Cerrado and reached the border with Paraguay. A long transfer on hot and busy roads, through cities and agricultural areas. The adrenaline of the departure and the desire to discover the world beyond the border kept us focused and charged, despite the many hours in the saddle.

Crossing Paraguay was a leap into another dimension: rural villages, disorderly traffic and less maintained roads. Entering Argentina, we left behind the plains and we began to see the first mountains. Salta was a living city, it welcomed us at the foot of the Andes. It was perfect for a break, a check to the bikes and to spend the night before the ascent to the great altitudes.

This was one of the most intense days. After Salta we began the ascent to Paso de Jama, exceeding 4,000 meters. The air has become thinner, the temperatures fell, and the landscape transformed into an alternation of valleys, lagoons and colorful mountains. However, reaching San Pedro de Atacama, in the heart of the Chilean desert, was an exciting achievement.

We spent a couple of days exploring the surroundings: the Moon Valley, geysers of the Tatio, high-altitude lagoons. But the moment that will remain forever in our mind and heart was reaching the Laguna Azul, to over 4,000 meters, with strong wind and clear sky. The water was a deep blue, unreal. Looking around and seeing my son next to me, both on the saddle of our Multistrada in that surreal landscape, was something that I cannot explain. A memory that I will keep forever.

The descent from the desert to the Pacific coast was rapid, but spectacular. The landscape changes abruptly, from arid mountains to the desert that reached the sea. Arriving to Antofagasta and seeing the Pacific Ocean in front of us was a moment full of meaning: not only did we cover miles, but we did it together, overcoming obstacles and discovering incredible places.

The return was long and challenging, but also an opportunity to rework the journey. Crossing again Argentina allowed us to see with different eyes the places already visited. Each day was a new shared piece of road, each stop a chat, a laugh, a moment to capture with photos. After more than two weeks, returning to Brazil was like closing a circle. Tired, but enriched by all that we had lived.
