Bathams AJN Racing looking forward to The Cathedral of Speed

Round 8 of the British Superbike Championship at Cadwell Park was very positive overall but unfortunately didn’t yield results that the pace of the bike promised during practice and qualifying

An unfortunate crash while lying in 3rd position early in race one left Storm out of position on the starting grid for race two and three. 

Nonetheless, while a couple of decent points finishes were welcome, the race pace of the bike following its latest upgrade was highly encouraging and has definitely unlocked more potential from it which the team are very much looking forward to tapping into at The TT Circuit, Assen next week.

“Obviously Cadwell Park was disappointing results-wise after practice and qualifying had gone well. However, Race three was very enjoyable and we were lapping at the same pace as the leaders after I had worked myself back in to the top ten, and the bike felt the best it has all season.

Assen was a bit cruel to us last year with the changeable weather conditions and a red flag in race one for heavy rain - when I was the only one on wet weather tyres. Hopefully we can pick up where we left off at Cadwell and get three decent results, plus of course I’m looking forward to seeing all the Dutch fans, especially if they’ve got top hats on!”

“The bike definitely made a step in the right direction at Cadwell which gave us all a much needed boost after our recent run of form.

It’s a shame about the crash in race one which unfortunately due to how the grids are set in BSB, did compromise the rest of the weekend for us, but that’s how it goes sometimes. At least we were at the front when it happened and able to lap as fast as the leaders during the remaining races.

Assen feels like unfinished business for us after last year, so we’re going there determined to set that straight”.
