HomeBen Currie joined regular Ducati track day customers at Donington Park last Thursday (19th September), where Ducati UK's third and final track day of the year took part on the full GP circuit. In addition the reigning British Supersport Champion, former WorldSBK and BSB racer Chris Walker was also out on track, where he got to ride Key Racing's recent Manx GP-winning Ducati 916.
Ben Currie, along with Oxford Products Racing Ducati crew chief Steve 'Wilf' Moore, and mechanics Joe Mccullagh and Lennie Sims, used the six 20-minute sessions to test and evaluate chassis configurations on their Panigale V2 race bike.
The team are back in action at Donington this weekend at the penultimate Bennetts British Superbike Round. Ben and the team are targeting wins in the final four races to secure a back-to-back British Supersport title, which would be a fitting conclusion to Moto Rapido and Oxford Products’ successful six-year title partnership which ends this season.
Ben Currie (Oxford Products Racing Ducati)
"This time last year at Donington Park we were crowned British Supersport champions. We now have four races left this season and the task is simple. I just need wins now.
Last week the third and final Ducati UK track day of the year took place at Donington Park. The track sessions proved really useful for the Oxford Products Racing Ducati team and myself and we used the sessions to test out new settings on the Panigale V2.
I feel we made a step at the test last week so I'm looking forward to putting that into practise. It's been a tough few rounds for us, but the confidence and the want is very much still there.
I believe we can turn it around this weekend and get back to winning ways. It's going to be tough. The boys are riding really fast, so we have to bring our A game to beat them for sure, but I’m up for it!"
