The DesertX Rally scores two podiums for the at Sweet Lamb in its first ever Baja event

Lee Green and Jack Brazier entered the DesertX Rally in the bike’s first ever Baja race earlier this month at the Sweet Lamb Rally complex in Wales, home to the UK’s Ducati DRE Adventure Academy.

Starting from Row 4, Green had a fantastic opening lap passing a total of 65 riders, before going on to post the fastest lap and lead the race. But whilst cruising to certain victory disaster struck on the final lap when the bike suffered a puncture.

Green was able to nurse the bike home for the remaining seven miles to finish the event. And despite the puncture denying him the win, he still claimed the weekend’s third fastest time overall.

Going one better at the flag for a Ducati 2-3 on the podium, was Jack Brazier who’s super consistent riding, also on a Ducati DesertX Rally, saw him take second place.

The racing in mixed conditions proved the Ducati’s ‘Race Wilder’ potential and lots of useful data was gathered ready for the next Baja on October 19th and 20th where the aim once again will be to secure the DesertX Rally’s maiden win.

Lee Green
"The DesertX Rally is just confidence inspiring. You don't feel like you're riding a big bike. It just handled the course so well. It was stable in the corners, and it didn't matter whether the terrain was rough or smooth. It's very predictable when riding. It was just a joy to ride and put a smile across my face."

Mark ‘Moly’ Molineux, team manager
“The suspension on the DesertX Rally was superb and as expected it was just a few clicks to suit Lee and Jack’s riding, all very easy to setup. The Testastretta engine is sublime, it’s so tractable and finds grip from the bottom right through the range. Neither bike missed a beat over the two days, I can’t wait to see them compete in the next Baja event come October.”
