Deimante Meilune, aka Tomboy a bit, is a popular content creator who both builds and rides motorcycles. Deimante was present at Ducati UK’s first media day at our Silverstone headquarters in 2022, attended the Diavel V4 launch at the Gherkin in London, and was one of the first UK YouTubers to ride the Scrambler Ducati when it launched in Barcelona.
“I’m obsessed with motorcycles. I bought my first motorcycle brand new in 2016 before I had even passed my licence, and in the first two years did 30,000 miles on it. And I’m still just as obsessed with bikes as I was during those first couple of years. Probably even more!
Riding motorcycles is something I’ve always wanted to do from a young age. Growing up in Lithuania my dad used to ride and had a sidecar. He used to take the family out and I’d ride in the sidecar with my brother when I was little, but I knew I that wanted to ride myself, not content with being a pillion.
I came over to the UK 20 years ago. I just wanted to try to live and experience different countries. I tried Norway but didn't settle. I then arrived in Colchester in the UK, and it just felt like home.
I remember the first Ducati I rode was when the Scrambler Ducati was launched in Barcelona. It was one of the first launches I ever went on, and it was incredible, I loved it so much. And I’ve always loved the Scrambler, but especially when the Next-Gen Scrambler came out. With the second generation it’s just got better and better.
My motorcycle reviews are about the feeling, about how the bike fits, feels and rides, rather than just technical because everybody has seen and has access to the technical aspects already. I try to fit the bike into environment, or the weather, or the roads, to show how in my opinion where a bike belongs and who should get one.
Not everyone is looking for a technical review, but perhaps why they should buy a bike, and this is what I try to show. Currently it’s the Ducati Panigale V2 that interests me the most. I’d like to try more of the Ducati V2 range and then go on to compare the different models with their bigger V4 versions. Personally, I prefer to compare motorcycles to others available from the same manufacturer, rather than the usual comparison to bikes from different manufacturers.
I think the last Ducati I rode was the Supersport on a Ducati UK track day at Silverstone. Oh my God, I fell in love with that bike. I had the bike on loan and was using it on the road before getting to ride it around Silverstone. Just amazing, incredible. But I would buy a new Panigale V2 tomorrow if I had the funds. I have a track bike now and am planning on lots more track days.
But I don’t just ride bikes, I build them too. For my next build, after I finish my chopper and another project, I’ll be restoring a 2002 Ducati 998R. It was raced in the Thunderbike series, and I plan on taking it back on the track once finished. I’m going to be doing a bare-frame rebuild with Simon Parry, who raced it at the New Era Sound of Thunder Series in 2003/04. He’s an ex-BSB mechanic and a Ducati certified technician who has previously worked at Ducati London and trained at Bologna. So, the 998 will be in very safe hands, especially as Jeff Green was Simon’s mentor.
The challenge motorcycles give me is something I love. They keep challenging me all the time, and in every aspect, starting from the riding. As soon as I get comfortable with maybe one bike, then you can jump on the track, you can go off road, you can do so many different things. It will never stop, and you can always grow. I really like learning and growing and this is why I build bikes and am learning mechanics. I get to trying different things on the motorcycle and then test them out on the road.
I get inspired by people both in and outside the industry, from people building and making their lives the way they want, doing what they want to do, and inspiring happiness in other people. Every day I meet people who are inspire me, most of them from the motorcycle world!
2025 was incredible. I’m looking forward to trying some of the new models that have come out, finishing my builds and whatever comes. I got to ride so much, and experience so many different countries and different bikes. It was an absolutely amazing year, and I can’t wait to see what’s next.”
