The 2026 WorldSBK season is approaching the halfway point. The sixth of the twelve rounds on the calendar will get underway tomorrow at 10.35 am with the first free practice session of the Aragon Round in Spain. Nicolò Bulega arrives at the Motorland circuit on the back of fifteen consecutive victories since the start of the season (19 in total, with the last four secured in 2025), which sees him leading the World Superbike Championship standings with a 95-point advantage over his team-mate Iker Lecuona. For the Spaniard, the aim is to secure his first WorldSBK victory in front of his home crowd. Due to the clash with the MotoGP Grand Prix at Mugello (Italy), the schedule for Race 1 has been changed, with the race now set to start on Saturday at 2.00 pm.
Nicolò Bulega (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati #11) “We're heading to Aragon feeling very confident, not just because of the results we've achieved so far this season, but also because of the work we did during the Misano test, where we managed to find some solutions that could prove useful. Obviously, we'll have to contend with the extremely high temperatures, but that's a problem everyone will have to face.”
Iker Lecuona (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati #7) “I'm really looking forward to getting out on track tomorrow because I see this as practically my 'home round'. My family will be there, along with lots of friends and fans who will give me an extra boost. It would be great to secure my first win right here, but I'll have to beat the competition from Nicolò, who has been flawless so far and has deserved every single victory. We're close, though, and we'll give it our all to take a step forward.”
