Discover moreIt is very difficult to find the right words to remember people of the calibre of Ferdinand Piech. I knew him for his passion for Ducati and his incredible drive for excellence. The owner of a Ducati Desmosedici, he was a member of the Ducati board from 2012 to 2015. His every visit to the factory served as an incentive, with careful analysis and consideration regarding lightening possibilities, costs, materials.
I find it extraordinary how, with technological symbols such as Quattro and TDI, and with racing, first rallying and then Le Mans, he transformed Audi the mainstream brand into one of the most sophisticated symbols of technology and design. A great engineer and racing enthusiast with a very clear vision. The races, he told me, serve to promote the technology with which we build production models.
The best way to remember him will be to continue to strive for technological excellence with the same dedication he displayed, yet another incentive and source of pride for us all.
