Renewal of the Ducati Supplementary and Company Participation Contract 2023-2026: an agreement that looks to the future

Ducati Motor Holding and the United Trade Union Representation, with the support of FIOM CGIL, FIM CISL and UILM UIL, have reached an agreement for the renewal of the Supplementary and Company Participation Contract for the period 2023 -2026.

Strengthened by a highly participatory approach to trade union relations, the agreement was reached in the name of growth, sustainability and well-being.

The agreement, which has always had great attention for the well-being of the individual at its centre, was built on the basis of the extremely significant corporate investment plan in new products and infrastructures.

The plan will develop over the next five years and a significant part of it will be dedicated to the Borgo Panigale factory. A true "sacred place" for Ducati where passion, expertise and craftmanship come together in the creation of some of the most desired and admired motorcycles in the world.

We are proud to have reached an agreement that not only reinforces our commitment to employees, but also looks to the future of our company with optimism and determination” says Raffaella Ponticelli, Human Resources and Organization Director at Ducati. “This agreement reflects our dedication to creating a work environment that promotes work-life balance, diversity, and the well-being of all. It is the result of a constructive and participatory dialogue with union representatives, and lays the foundation for sustainable and innovative growth. We are convinced that Ducati's success depends on valuing people and their active participation, and this agreement is concrete proof of that.”

Work-life balance, Smart Working and Sustainable Mobility

The contract introduces new measures to support employees with caregiving duties with the aim of enhancing the balance between private life and work and protecting the well-being of each employee by promoting an increasingly inclusive and heterogeneous environment. Specifically, there are 25 hours per year of paid leave for child illness in the 0-14 age group and 6 hours per year of paid leave for accompanying medical visits or for assistance to family members or pets.

In line with the methods already tested by the Company, Ducati confirms the Smart Working model without establishing a maximum number of days of use, an innovative choice with a view to protecting the work-life balance of its employees both in terms of organizing private life and limiting travel. This model fits within the context of Ducati, which recognizes face-to-face work as the main form of work as it fosters communication, consolidates interpersonal relationships and mutual trust, develops teamwork and promotes the corporate culture and values of the organization.

Among the contents of the agreement, a focus is also placed on the environment through a significant contribution to alternative and sustainable mobility. Thanks to an agreement with TPER (Emilia-Romagna Passenger Transport) employees will be able to purchase season tickets for public transport at particularly discounted rates. Corporate car-pooling has also been confirmed with an increase in cashback on travel and new car-sharing agreements.

Stabilization plan, new hires and enhancement of diversity and health

During the period of validity of the contract - 2023/2026 - 328 new hires are expected: 222 have already taken place since the beginning of 2023 (of which 142 in production) and 106 in the next few years (of which 56 in production). The transformation of 100 part-time contracts into full-time is also expected, of which 78 are already effective and another 22 by January 2025 (always in the production areas).

Great attention is also dedicated to enhancing gender diversity, with specific inclusion and development plans for female workers. The aim is to guarantee equal treatment and access to roles of responsibility, including managerial ones, between male and female workers. Initiatives against gender violence are also planned, through dedicated training courses and collaboration with local anti-violence centres.

No less important is the attention paid to promoting the health and well-being of employees, who will be able to benefit from specific campaigns and courses for health prevention with some of the most important Italian associations in the field.

Reward for Excellence

On the economic front, the contract provides for an increase in company bonuses, both variable and fixed, for a total of €1,100 per year.

These increases, in addition to what has already been agreed in previous accords, take Ducati to the top of the national scene in terms of differential compared to the values of the CCNL.

The renewal proposal, which will be put to the vote of workers before it comes into force, confirms the importance of dialogue as a tool for tackling the complex challenges that companies face in a context of profound changes. The agreement represents a vital step for the future of Ducati and its employees, in the name of growth, sustainability, well-being and union participation.
