Discover moreThe Monster makes lightness one of its strengths. Each component is designed to weigh as little as possible, from the aluminium Front Frame, inspired by the Panigale V4, to the tail section that is directly connected to the engine. The result is an agile and compact bike, ideal for daily use and pure enjoyment.
Braking system
The aim? To offer the best possible braking while maintaining excellent modulation and light, prompt control. To achieve this, Ducati engineers developed a specific braking system in close collaboration with Brembo. Brembo M4-32 monobloc radial callipers grip two 320 mm discs, with sintered pads guaranteeing sports performance in both wet and dry conditions. The new radial pump offers a heightened feeling of control as well as guaranteeing a level of braking power that sets a benchmark in the segment. The clutch and brake levers are both adjustable in terms of their distance from the handlebar. At the rear, a single 245 mm disc is gripped by a Brembo calliper, equipped, just like the front brake, with efficiency-enhancing sintered brake pads.
Tyres and wheels
Even the wheels contribute to the lightness of the new Monster. Created in lightweight alloy, they measure 3.5 x 17” and 5.5 x 17” and mount Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tyres, 120/70 at the front and 180/55 at the rear. A specific choice to suit the motorcycle’s sports attitude, on both dry and wet surfaces.
Steering angle
The new frame but also the careful positioning of parts such as the radiator have led to one big improvement with respect to the previous generation of Monster, specifically a steering angle of 36°, for an increase of 7°. Thanks to these updates, the Monster has never been so agile and nippy in traffic, and it is also easier and more intuitive when changing direction.
Engine
The Monster is powered by the Euro 5 approved 937 cc Testastretta 11° 937 cc L-twin with desmodromic timing.
