Ducati and Piquadro celebrate the Centenary of the motorcycle manufacturer with four Special Edition backpacks, expanding their collaboration into the world of travel

  • To celebrate Ducati's Centenary, Piquadro has created four Special Edition backpacks paying tribute to some of the most memorable chapters in the history of the Italian motorcycle manufacturer
  • The collection draws inspiration from the 900 Sport Desmo Darmah, 750 Super Sport “California Hot Rod”, 500 SL Pantah and 750 F1: four icons of the Ducati legend, whose liveries have been brought back to life on the latest-generation motorcycles
  • The collaboration between the two Italian brands is expanding to include a new range of backpacks, trolley bags and accessories designed for business and travel

Borgo Panigale, Bologna, 22 October 2026 – In its Centenary year, Ducati continues to find new ways to tell and celebrate its history. In this spirit, four Special Edition backpacks have been created in collaboration with Piquadro, inspired by four historic liveries that the Borgo Panigale-based motorcycle manufacturer has reinterpreted on its latest-generation motorcycles to celebrate its 100 years of history.

Three of these are part of the Collezione 100, unveiled at the Mugello Circuit: a project comprising ten models, each produced in a limited and numbered edition of 100 units, combining historic liveries with the design and technology of today's motorcycles. These are joined by the Superleggera V4 Centenario Tricolore, also produced in just 100 units, the most high-performance, technologically advanced and sophisticated road-legal motorcycle ever created by a motorcycle manufacturer.

It is precisely this dialogue between past and present that inspires the four Special Edition backpacks by Piquadro, bringing Ducati's colours, graphics and historical references beyond the world of two wheels, giving them a new expression through the design and functionality of the backpacks.

The black and gold of the 1979 900 Sport Desmo Darmah, revived on the Streetfighter V4 S 100, recalls the aesthetics of motorsport in the 1970s and 1980s and stands out for its distinctive tiger head. The 750 Super Sport “California Hot Rod”, reinterpreted on the XDiavel V4 100, celebrates Cook Neilson's historic victory at Daytona in 1977. The 1979 500 SL Pantah, which inspired the Multistrada V4 RS 100, represents a fundamental technical turning point for the italian brand, thanks to the introduction of the first Trellis frame and the new Pantah engine. Finally, the Tricolore of the 750 F1, the motorcycle with which Marco Lucchinelli won the Battle of the Twins at Daytona in 1986, inspired the livery of the Superleggera V4 Centenario Tricolore.

Claudio Domenicali, Ducati CEO: “The Centenary is an opportunity to celebrate our history, but also to find new ways to tell our story. The four Special Edition backpacks created with Piquadro are a great example of this: they reinterpret some of the most iconic liveries of our motorcycles through the language of an Italian brand with which we share the passion for design and attention to detail. We are delighted that this collaboration continues to grow and finds new forms of expression in a collection designed to accompany enthusiasts in their everyday lives and on their travels.”

Marco Palmieri, Chairman and CEO of Piquadro: “Companies with a rich history should not simply celebrate it: they must continue to draw on it to evolve. This is what connects us to Ducati. We share a culture in which design, technology and performance are tools for continuously pushing the boundaries of what a product can achieve. These four backpacks draw on a hundred years of history, but above all, they tell the story of what we are interested in building together: the future.”

The partnership between Ducati and Piquadro also extends beyond the celebratory project, with a new collection of backpacks, trolley cases and accessories designed for business and travel. This evolution brings together Piquadro's expertise in designing products for everyday mobility with Ducati's culture, which has always been rooted in technology, performance and a passion for beauty.

From 19 October, the Special Edition backpacks will be available in Piquadro monobrand boutiques. To discover all the models in the Collezione 100 and learn more about the stories that inspired them, visit the official Ducati website and the Ducati Media House.
