Today it would have been important for the great performance we turned out in Jerez to be followed up. Unfortunately, this wasn’t to be, which is even more frustrating since all the premises for an excellent outcome were present: Pecco’s pace was excellent, also proven by his pole position and place on the podium in the Sprint Race. He was ably managing an insidious start, staking everything on the unfolding of the race. A most unwelcome mishap, but being a racing incident we cannot but accept it in a sporting spirit.

Then, let us appreciate an all-Ducati podium, a sensational Bezzecchi with his incessant pace dictated by talent, ambition and sheer determination. This is the genuine expression of a VR46 Team that is really doing a magnificent job with both its riders always protagonists. The same can be said for Pramac, a resounding double result that completes a leader board which makes us extremely proud. Congratulations to them all!

Now we wait for Mugello, where we’ll welcome Bastianini’s return. The important thing is to remain hyped-up and focused, something the team knows how to do very well, and is what must make the difference this time as well. There isn’t much more to be said.

In conclusion, I take the opportunity to welcome the renewal of Bautista's contract: we are really happy to be able to continue with Alvaro next season. Ducati – Bautista is a combination in which not only the professionalism of an experienced and fast rider stands out, but also his all-encompassing human depth.

Come on, Ducati!
