An awesome victory, from every point of view.

  Because it’s Pecco’s first win at Mugello, attained in front of our supporters, because it comes after that false step at Le Mans, and then, above all, because it was planned and built, lap after lap, just like a puzzle that in the end, reveals itself in all its beauty.
A difficult race, far more than it might seem, starting with the all-important choice of the front tyre. Pecco opted for a medium, not the highest performer compared with the hard compound chosen by our direct opponents, but the safest in view of the colder temperatures on Sunday. A choice that was also made with the awareness of having margin, compared with our opponents. The race was masterfully handled at its every stage, in timings and manner, after a start that was far from brilliant.
A comeback in which Bagnaia was able to firstly bide his time, and then choose the right moment to push, ensuring a lead that he managed to maintain through to the flag, with talent and great tactical intelligence, against the progress of opponents that were constant and menacing. I feel bad for Jack, who came across a no-no day, I would say that there is nothing more to add if not to confidently wait for the next GP. And most of all, I’m sorry for the slide Enea took: he could have consolidated his position in the standings.
My appreciative thoughts go to all the Ducati Corse, from Team VR46, splendid protagonist with Bezzecchi and Marini, to Team Gresini that after Giannantonio’s superlative pole, had a Bastianini in a great comeback while he remained in the race. And not to overlook Pramac with Zarco, an excellent fourth on the finish line.
To be proudly highlighted: the new speed record of 363 km/h achieved by Martin. Just enough time to celebrate with the whole Team on this very special Sunday, and then our minds and efforts are already focussing on the next race, in Barcelona. Come on, Ducati!
