Grand Prix of Portugal Round 10 MXGP 2026 Qualifying Race

• Top five for Simone Mancini in EMX250 first moto   • Calvin Vlaanderen finishes top ten in MXGP qualifying     The Portuguese Grand Prix, round 10 of the FIM Motocross World Championship, takes place this weekend in Agueda, a town located on the Atlantic coast, 100 kilometers south of Porto. It is home to one of most iconic motocross tracks in Europe, renowned for its distinctive red soil and dramatic elevation changes, with a technical layout that combines fast sections, demanding corners, and spectacular jumps.
Fifteenth after a difficult timed practice session that saw him crash twice, Calvin Vlaanderen, who turned 30 on June 24, managed to get off to a good start in qualifying, battling throughout the heat for tenth place, in which he finished after completing 13 laps aboard his Desmo450 MX.

In MX2, Ferruccio Zanchi, fresh from his challenging home Grand Prix in Montevarchi, finished the morning timed practice session in tenth place. After a strong start in qualifying, the Beddini Racing Ducati MX2 Factory Team rider crashed on lap two, rejoining in last place. However, the race was red flagged due to another crash, and on the second start, Zanchi managed to move close to the top 10, crossing the checkered flag in 11th place.

After finishing 9th in both, free and timed practice sessions, Simone Mancini, aboard his #97 Desmo250 MX machine, got off to a great start in the first heat, moving up to fifth place by the opening lap. Fourth after three laps, Mancini battled with the leading group throughout the race, finishing fifth, just shy of third place.
