The Riviera Romagnola dresses up in Ducati colours for WDW2022

World Ducati Week 2022 - from 22 to 24 July at the Misano World Circuit "Marco Simoncelli" - is almost upon us and the Borgo Panigale manufacturer is sharing a moment to celebrate the synergies with the territory together with all the municipalities, institutions and bodies involved in the event.

In fact, the Municipalities of Rimini, Riccione, Misano Adriatico, Cattolica and the Republic of San Marino, which are actively participating by hosting some of the most important moments, such as the evening events or the dinner of the Presidents of Ducati Clubs from all over the world, are making a fundamental contribution to make the Ducati gathering even more special.

The World Ducati Week will therefore be a widespread event in the area, which will see the Riviera Romagnola dress up in Ducati colours thanks to a city dressing project with dedicated posters and signs, designed to attract and offer everyone, from tourists to locals, the opportunity to experience the towns and cities under a new guise during the three days of the event. T-shirts will also be distributed in the municipalities for venues and businesses. No less important, in addition to the visual effect, there will also be an inevitable acoustic effect: the roar of the thousands of Ducatis which will participate in the parade on Friday evening starting from the Misano World Circuit, and which will pass through Cattolica, Misano and Riccione to arrive on the beach at the Scrambler Beach Party.

The celebration of the partnership with the territory took place during the WDW Warm-up Party, in the splendid setting of the garden of the Palazzi dell’Arte in Rimini (P.A.R.T.), in the presence of the Ducati Marketing and Communication Director, Patrizia Cianetti; of the mayors of Rimini, Jamil Sadegholvaad; Misano, Fabrizio Piccioni; Riccione, Daniela Angelini and Cattolica, Franca Foronchi; the Director of the Tourism and Culture Department of the Republic of San Marino, Filippo Francini and the Managing Director of the Misano World Circuit “Marco Simoncelli”, Andrea Albani.

“Ducati is strongly rooted in the Motor Valley and sees an important added value in the link with municipalities, administrations and companies in the area - commented Claudio Domenicali, Ducati CEO and President of Motor Valley - During the evolution of World Ducati Week this bond is transformed into a true partnership with the institutions that contribute with their collaboration to make the gathering of two-wheel enthusiasts even more special. WDW, which unites thousands of Ducati enthusiasts from all over the world, wants to be also for its eleventh edition a big party open to all, sustainable and with positive effects on the territory. This event, unique of its kind, also allows us to combine the two souls of Ducati: the technological one pushing innovation and performance, and the relational one, enhancing the pleasure of being together and the typical enjoyment of Made in Italy and of 'Emilia Romagna".

During the event with the institutions, Francesco Scarlata, Managing Director Business Assurance Division TUV, also took the stage to officially hand over the certificate attesting that the World Ducati Week is certified as a sustainable event according to the ISO 20121:2012 standard for the third consecutive edition. A moment of great pride for Ducati, which immediately set itself the goal of involving the tens of thousands of enthusiasts in an unforgettable experience but one that takes social responsibility and environmental sustainability into account.

Also on display at the evening was the Multistrada V4 S with the special graphics created by Emiliano Ponzi for Visit Romagna, a project created in the context of the promotion of Riders' Land and specifically for the Romagna Motorcycle project, one of the collaborative activities for the promotion of the territory between Ducati and APT through motorcycle tourism. The two sides of the bike represent the earth, the sky and the sea of Romagna.

"We can only be proud of the appointment that soon awaits us with the World Ducati Week - said Jamil Sadegholvaad, Mayor of Rimini and president of Visit Romagna - an event that was born here, in this territory universally known as the "Land of Engines" for the passion that has always characterized its people, since the ‘60s when the bathing season got underway with motorcycle races on the waterfronts of Rimini, Riccione, Cesenatico, Milano Marittima. An era that has been able to transform itself giving birth to the Misano circuit, now dedicated to Marco Simoncelli, which has become a benchmark for quality and services for the entire world motorsport scene. This is why the WDW is an event that, by combining the passion for motorcycles of its people with the all-Romagna capacity for hospitality, and with its ability to attract tens and tens of thousands of enthusiasts, we feel entirely ours right from the start and an appointment that we would not want to miss for anything in the world. And it is also with them in mind, crossing over the passion for motorcycles with our territory, that we have promoted Romagna Motorcycle, a project for the development of motorbike tourism which with ten itineraries, stories, photos, videos, maps, offers this population of enthusiasts the keys to getting to know the most beautiful and secret areas of Romagna".

The moment of sharing with the territory was also an opportunity to present a preview of the "Food Court", the area of the World Ducati Week dedicated to food, created in collaboration with SummerTrade, a catering company operating in the area, and with the Municipality of Misano. The food area of the WDW will offer all fans a menu of specialties from the Emilia-Romagna region, produced with local raw materials and fully respecting the traditions: piadina IGP, squacquerone DOP, mortadella IGP, watermelon from Ferrara are just a few examples.

Still on the subject of food, another exceptional collaboration has been announced: Chef Riccardo Monco of the three-star Michelin restaurant Enoteca Pinchiorri will design a special sauce for the Rustida that will be served by Ducati managers on Saturday evening, directly on the main straight of the Misano circuit.
