The solo rider

Journey through Tibet, Xinjiang and Central Asia

Beyond the Borders of the Silk Road

A motorcycle journey that began in Tibet, along one of the most extreme and fascinating roads in Asia. The route followed National Highway 219, crossing the entire county of Yecheng, in Xinjiang: over 2,000 kilometers known for their high altitudes and often unpredictable weather conditions.

A legendary road, reaching altitudes of 4,000 meters and crossing five mountains over 5,000 meters high and sixteen mountain passes. A challenging itinerary, where snow-capped mountains, deserts and glaciers alternate across an extreme and constantly changing landscape.

After passing through the Khorgos border crossing, the journey continued through Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, retracing the central section of the ancient Silk Road. A route that once connected Western China to the former Persian regions, serving as a vital hub for trade, as well as for the exchange of cultures, religions and technologies.

Riding it by motorcycle was an extraordinary adventure, through mountain passes and legendary cities, along a route that still preserves all the fascination of great exploration.

Among the most memorable moments was crossing snow-covered mountains, deserts and glaciers, in places where the weather could change from one moment to the next, making every kilometer even more intense.

A feeling of absolute freedom. With an open mind.
